rsync and translating restricted NTFS filename characters
I am backing up files from Linux to a NTFS using rsync. I have the NTFS mounted on Linux via CIFS. I am discovering errors while attempting to backup files with restricted NTFS characters, like : [colon]. For example, I am unable to backup my crucial maildirs, as a colon is encoded in each Linux file path. Is there a solution to rsync Linux file paths with restricted NTFS characters, to NTFS?

Kernel Crashing
Hi, I''ve just attempted several times to install Fedora Linux domU''s on a Fedora 6 [32-bit xen kernel 2.6.20-1.2944], and it keeps crashing at various points when trying to format domU''s virtual disk. I''ve tried allocating 1 vcpu and 2 vcpus, and it still keeps crashing dom0. The machine has a total of two hyperthreaded 3.2ghz Xeon cpus, and 3GB of RAM.

updating server with rsync????
Hi, I have 2 ftp servers with 3 identical users. I want server B to be updated of server A. Whatever changes mmade by users on server A should be made on server B say every 5 hours. Is rsync the right tool to use here? Can rsync be used such that only changed files are downloaded? Thanks a lot and bye. Why pv-on-hvm drivers?
Hi list, I''ve read about recent efforts to push pv-on-hvm drivers to Linux mainline and I''m curious to know the cause for this. What''s the advantage over using pv_ops directly and booting the kernel paravirtualized? Are there plans to move Linux domUs closer to the KVM way (from an architectural point of view)? Hope you can help. Regards, Markus

mount point is not unique among all nodes
Hi list, Here is a bug report on novell bugzilla (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=456280) that mount point inside node A can be removed from node B. The problem is, node B does not know an empty dir is be using as mount point on another node. Is there any solution to return -EBUSY when a dir is be using as mount point on another node ? Thanks in advance. -- Coly Li SuSE Labs
