simple ts() object question
Dear Community, say, I have an annual ts() object sampled from 1960 to 1969 like: ta<-ts(1:10, start=1960, frequency=1) How can I extract the value from the year 1965? I mean, not by: ta[6] but by something like: ta[1965] where I'm directly referring to the year of the observation? Thank you in advance! -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/simple-ts-object-question-tp2527085p2527085.html Sent from the R help mailing list ar...

Tick marks that correspond with bars on barplot
Hello all, I have created a barplot that shows change in hardwood/softwood density from 1965 to 2005 in 5 year periods (1965,1970, etc). I would like to have an X-axis where the labels for the years line up after every two bars in the plot (there is one bar for hardwood, and another for softwood). Below is my script: density<-read.table("F:\\Megan\\Vtest.csv", header=TRUE, se...

Regexp - date validation
Can somebody tell me why the following RegExp doesn''t work for date validation in Rails... It validates fine in RadRails -- using REgExp panel. Intended format: (mm/dd/yyyy): %r{^(0[1-9]|1[012])(-|/)(0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])(-|/)(19|20)([0-9][0-9])$} If i try the following, it works in Rails: %r{(0[1-9]|1[012])(-|/)(0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])} When I add the last piece, it

The second call to plot(), in conjunction with by(), seems to be natural enough, and, IMHO, seems to be readable and succinct. data<- read.table(textConnection("Year Quarter Consumption 1965 1 874 1965 2 679 1965 3 616 1965 4 816 1966 1 866 1966 2 700 1966 3 603 1966 4 814 1967 1 843 1967 2 719 1967 3 594 1967 4 819 1...
