No, Bind isn't just a front end, there are zone files, but you just
don't see them because they are in memory.

Which does bring up a question. It seems that outside of a feature or
two and some added flexibility that there is, at the core, no
difference between Samba's internal DNS and BIND9_DLZ as there are no

imap process killed with signal 11
Hi!
Using the latest cvs from HEAD, I'm experiencing problems after sending
a message and the client is trying upload the message to the
appropriate (Sent/Queue) folder. I get only one error in dovecot.log:
dovecot: Nov 25 14:21:31 Error: child 19554 (imap) killed with signal 11
So my client disconnects, and asks for the password again, and in
dovecot.info I get nothing, but the logs of the new connection attempt.
What else info should I provide?
System is OpenBSD 4.2

[...]
1 OK Fetch completed.
2 FETCH 1:* () (CHANGEDSINCE 1)
* 2 FETCH (MODSEQ (19554))
[...]
2 OK Fetch completed.
However, RFC 3501 indicates that an empty FETCH attribute list is incorrect:

problem with environmental variables and FastCGI
Hi,
I''m trying to deploy my app using FastCGI, and I have a problem. The
application
works correctly in either FastCGI or CGI mode (toggling between
dispatch.fcgi and
dispatch.cgi in my public/.htaccess file) except that under regular CGI, my
ENV hash is correctly set, but under FastCGI, the ENV hash is completely
empty. I
thought that environment variables were automatically passed

Problem mapping Samba shares in Windows
Hi,
In our company we are currently running a Samba server and Windows XP clients.
At the moment we are having problems with mapping Samba shares in Windows.
Shares are being mapped through a windows startup script, which executes net use (with the option persistent:no) command.
For most users this works most of the time, nevertheless it often fails, the exect reason for this isn't clear
