Getting smbpasswd file to work alongside unencrypted ones
We operate a samba('18p10) server accessed by WIN3.11, 9x & NT4 clients,

run prog to create policy? + our setup
Hi
Is it possible to give users a different policy?
If it's not possible by default, can I do it with preexec?
Wasn't there an option to let a file contain the output of a program, and
each time it is read, the output is piped instead of contents of a file?
Because I think that would be safer, than a preexec that replaces my
policy file, because when other users log in at exactly the same

Help with (hopefully) simple configuration problem
I have a (mostly) windows environment into which I am attempting
to integrate a SAMBA based printer server (Solaris 2.5.1 SPARC).
I'm running SAMBA 1.9.18p10. I need the print server to do
two things:
1. Perform as local network browser/WINS server
for the local subnet it is on (10.255.8.128/27)
2. Register itself and clients on it's subnet
with the browsers/WINS servers/whatever it
needs to to be browseable by the rest of the
clients....

I have a big problem. I have been working with Samba 1.9-18p10 for the
last weeks and everything looks to work properly between my Windows PC
and my Unix Server. The problem is when we have tryed with an NTWork
Station. I would like to know if there is any problem with this version
