Two brief questions concerning sapply. Can anyone please help?!
To anyone who can help: I have two brief questions concerning sapply. Following below is the code for my example. The two problems are described at the end of the code: site <- rep(2:6, each = 12) tillage <- rep(c(1,-1), each = 6, times = 5) carbon <- c(18.23, 16.06, 17.81, 16.07, 17.26, 17.08, 14.92, 15.88, 12.11, 14.23, 16.99, 13.57, 20.34, 20.3,

Instalo ade4 correctamente y no me abren los datos como por ejemplo data(bsetal97) ¿Qué piensan de eso? Rmysql - dbWritetable
Dear Rusers, I am trying to feed my database with data from a file. But since my file (2010101000.txt) there`s no headers I am facing problem because the result data.frame is not separated my columns. How could I set variables names for each columns in *dbWriteTable*? I have tried the command below but I don`t know how to fill the *field.type*option. dbWriteTable(con, "b20101010",

Walds Z in a mixed model
I recently reviewed a paper that used Wald's Z in a mixed model analysis. The dataset (see end of message for complete dataset) has individual animals (SAMPLE) from within social groups, from within geographic regions. Y is the response variable. The paper ran a mixed model with year and region as fixed effects, group a random effect nested within region, and sample nested within group. I

Struggle with Postfix/Dovecot-auth and SASL
Hi List, I just updated an old sendmail installation to a modern postfix/dovecot system with mysql backend. Everything works fine but SMTP-AUTH fails with some clients. The problem is, that with PLAIN (old) clients send the base64 coded form: USERNAME\0USERNAME\0PASSWORD which, as i understand dovecot interprets as MASTERUSER\0USERNAME\PASSWORD. New clients send \0USERNAME\0PASSWORD which works

vegan CCA I am Completely new to ordination analyses
Dear list, I am trying to predict species volume from bioclimatic data, I have various sites and I have a data frame with species volume and the corresponding bioclimatic data for each site. I read on a discussion forum that you can use ordination to predict species abundance (in my case volume) from 'new' climate data for sites where you do not know the abundance. Unfortunately I

As I mentioned, I got the instances to launch... but they're only taking HugePages from "Node 0", when I believe my setup should pull from both nodes. Re: HugePages - can't start guest that requires them
Yeah, Dominique, your wiki was one of the many docs I read through before/during/after starting down this primrose path... thanks for writing it. I'm an Arch user, and I couldn't find anything to indicate qemu, as its compiled for Arch, will look in /etc/default/qemu-kvm. And now that I've got the right page size, the instances are starting... The reason I want to use the page element

bin/121684: : dump(8) frequently hangs
Any progress here? Does anyone know if this will be fixed in 7.1 latest, or should we start looking for different backup solution (in this case I would suggest to remove dump from the source tree - having a backup tool that doesn't work is worse than having none). After upgrading we basically cannot backup our servers. Shouldn't this issue be on

Dear R-helpers, We marked 6000 leaves from 5 SPECIES - 10 individuals/species - in two different TREATMENTs: a control and a dry-plot from which 50% of incoming precipitation was excluded. We followed those leaves for 42 months and noted the presence and absence at each visit. I then carried out a Cox Harzard model to see differences in leaf mortality between parcels and among species over time:

LLVMers, The 2.5 pre-release is available for testing: http://llvm.org/prereleases/2.5/ If you have time, I'd appreciate anyone who can help test the release. Please do the following: 1) Download/compile llvm source, and either compile llvm-gcc source or use llvm-gcc binary (please compile llvm-gcc with fortran if you can). 2) Run make check, send me the testrun.log 3) Run "make

[net-next RFC PATCH 0/7] multiqueue support for tun/tap
As multi-queue nics were commonly used for high-end servers, current single queue based tap can not satisfy the requirement of scaling guest network performance as the numbers of vcpus increase. So the following series implements multiple queue support in tun/tap. In order to take advantages of this, a multi-queue capable driver and qemu were also needed. I just rebase the latest version of
