Huge directory tree: Get files to sync via tools like sysdig
Hi,
we have a huge directory tree.
* 17M files (number of files)
* 2.2TBytes of data.
* Only 0.1% changes per day
Current pain: rsyncs directory tree traversal needs to long to discover the changed files. Only few files change.
I discovered the tool sysdig which could be used to monitor the files which were changed.
Then we could f...

domain user part of unix group problem

I'm trying to allow a specific windows user to be able to access a samba

server and read the access.log files there. The permissions on the
access.log file are below...
-rw-r----- 1 squid squid 17M Jul 23 02:59 access.log
Now, I've tried adding the name of the domain users account to the unix
group "squid" but I'm still getting access denied errors. If I chmod 644
the access.log then the windows user can read the file fine but I'm
trying to avoid 644 and stick to 640...

reshaping the data
Dear all,
I would appreciate please a piece of help regarding the use of acast/dcast
functions in reshape2 package.
Specifically, I'm working with a data frame, that has information about
SAMPLE, GENE, and TYPE of MUTATION (as shown below):
Sample Gene Type
22M AEBP1 SNV
17M AEBP1 SNV
22M ATR INDEL
22M ATR SNV
11M BTK SNV
11M BTK INDEL
I would like to transform this DATAFRAME into a MATRIX that has GENE on
ROWS, SAMPLE on COLUMNS, and the elements of the matrix are SNV or INDEL
(ie the types of mutations).
The R code sta...

[PATCH supermin] init: Add a blacklist of kmods that we want to exclude from the mini initrd.
We want to exclude virtio-gpu since it's irrelevant, large, and pulls
in other unwanted dependencies (modeswitching, drm). Add a second
list of kmods which is a blacklist, applied after the first.
This reduces the libguestfs initrd size from 39M down to 17M, with
concomitant small reductions in boot time.

Is this a real issue or do I have something else going on?

...re invalid. I
didn't catch this earlier as I had the in_vq filled completely.
Patches 2, 4 and 5 can be folded into the series as they are bugfixes
for the functionality present there.
About patch 5: When running a test that transfers a 260M file from the
host to the guest, qemu-kvm.git takes 17m with a single outstanding
buffer in the in_vq vs. 1m when the entire in_vq is filled. This is a
bug in qemu-kvm.git's scheduling, but since it's a big difference and
not much change involved, we could merge this now.
