IPMI serial console
Hi all, A recent thread inspired me to try getting a proper serial console working on a Supermicro X9SCL motherboard with IPMI. However I find that while I see loader messages and the getty I enabled after boot I don't get any kernel messages which does somewhat limit the utility.. The BMC creates COM3 (/dev/cuau2) which works with getty. I modified /boot/loader.conf like so..

Serial port driver on CentOS 6
I installed CentOS 6 on a Dell Optiplex 790 with a StarTech.com dual serial port card, and the serial ports aren't being recognized. [PATCH] [QEMU-DM] Modem control line & msl/mcr register support
...ssumes the backend is not a real serial port and will disable any further attempts to manipulate or read the physical port''s line status. It''s tries to be as "correct" as possible in its msr/msl handling, with the exception of modem line status change interrupts. A real 16550 uart apparently have a delay time of 250ns between when a modem status line changes and the IRQ line goes high. In this patch, an "idle" port is polled for line status changes only if the guest has enabled UART_IER_MSI is enabled, and only polled every 10 ms. There''s some small...

sio => uart: one port is gone
This is a fairly standard and old machine with 2 COM ports. Recently (last Friday) I decided to update my RELENG_7 system and also to transition from sio to uart. Will Xen support PCI add-on card for serial ports?
hi, It looks that Xen currently only support ISA serial port, which is onboard. Is there any plan to support the PCI serial port? Thanks, Neo -- I would remember that if researchers were not ambitious probably today we haven''t the technology we are using! _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com

[UART] GPS 18-5Hz LVC and COM1 silence, OK on Linux though...
Hi, I'm having issues connecting Garmin GPS 18 to COM1 on 9.1, I get nothing but silence. Identical setup works absolutely fine with Linux. I've got PPS wire connected to DCD, but that seems to make no difference on Linux, so I presume it shouldn't affect fbsd either. On Linux, I get: $ uname -a Linux ubuntu 3.8.0-19-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 17 18:16:28 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64

Need help configuring additional serial ports
...(very sparse) instructions for Linux support for this card state that you should look for the string "serial port x" in the contents of /proc/pci, and then use that information with the setserial command to configure the port as follows: # setserial /dev/ttyS2 port 0xc000 uart 16550 irq 11 baud_base 115200 The problem is that I can't find the equivalent of the "0xc000" and the IRQ on my system in the contents of /proc/pci. Here is what the built-in, working serial port looks like: # setserial -a /dev/ttyS0 /dev/ttyS0, Line 0, UART: 16550A, Port...

rpois formula
Hi all, It's been a while since i've used R and I can't remember how to do the following: i have a = rpois (100000, x) b = rpois (100000, y) what is the code to show that a>b, b>a and a=b to show just the number of occurances? at the moment when I type a>b I get a nice long list of true or false. so i'm hoping to have the following a>b > 35000 b>a > 25000
