Qos wiht HTB for ADSL/Home
Hi,
My home setup is as following:
- 1024/128 kbit ADSL
- FC3
I set up HTB to prioritize traffic. I am not very pleased with the
obtained results.
The scope of my setup is to have some ssh sessions with remote servers
while browsing websites and running aMule Nothing complicated (I
think... ;).
The very high priority traffic (ssh), gets stuck when I start aMule and
make an FTP download.

Traffic Control Diagnostic Graphing Utility
I wrote a Perl script to poll `tc` for traffic control statistics (just bytes
presently) for leaf qdiscs. The information is fed to either RRDTool or
Munin[2], depending on what parameter is passed to the script. If the option
for a RRD database is used, graphs[3][4] are written to disk for each ten
second polling interval. If invoked via Munin[2], it handles graphing and
samples at five

why dont packets go where i want?
Dear All!
I reach the point that I must ask you what I have to do. I am beginner at
traffic shaping and I''m very confused with it. :)
Here''s my script that doesn''t do what I want to do with it:
tc qdisc del dev eth1 root
tc qdisc add dev eth1 root handle 1 htb default 2 r2q 10
tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 300kbit
tc class add dev eth1 parent 1:

Strange problem with HTB
...-s class ls dev eth0". It seems
strange to me that the "rate" value is actually higher than the
ceil of the class -- can''t it be kernel/tc bug or do I just
misinterpreted the meaning of rate/ceil?

Does anyone have clue what can be wrong?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english,

Ssh flow does not go into correct class. Help!
I''m a new comer. I have problems using tc+htb. I run the following commands, and expect outgoing ssh flow goes into 1:11. But actually it goes into default 12. What''s wrong?
tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: htb default 12
tc class add dev eth0 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 1000kbit ceil 2000kbit prio 1
tc class add dev eth0 parent 1:1 classid 1:11 htb rate 100kbit ceil

HTB Rate and Prio
Hi,
I wanted to implement some QOS on my Linux Box with HTB, but after some time
spend
on the configuration and tests, I still don''t manage to have some correct
results. Here are the details :
-ROOT 2000 kbits
-HIGHPRIO SUBCLASS 50 kbits prio 0
-SUBCLASS1 750 kbits prio 1
-SERVICE1 250 kbits prio 1
