[LLVMdev] RFC: Dropping support for building sanitizers with autotools
...Ubuntu packaging. I agree that the autotools support in compiler-rt was limited but it was doing the job correctly... Could you consider reverting this changes? Thanks, Sylvestre PS: I don't mind switching to cmake but here are still a few blocking bugs: http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=15732

[LLVMdev] State of build system support in LLVM
Hello, all. I'm a fairly new maintainer of Gentoo packages for LLVM and clang. I'm trying to improve the way LLVM is built on Gentoo, and that's why I'm wondering which of the build systems of LLVM is supported better. As far as I'm aware, LLVM can be currently built using one of the two build systems: - one built on top of autoconf with custom Makefiles, - the other one

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Ideas on improving Compiler-RT CMake
LLVMDev, PR 15732 is the umbrella tracking the progress of making the CMake build system feature equivalent to the autotools one. One of the biggest outstanding tasks is PR 21562, which I've been viewing more as a "We really need to fix how we build Compiler-RT." I've thought about this quite a bi...

[LLVMdev] Some CMake issues (Are you being served?)
Hello, I work on CMake upstream. I'd like to find out in what ways CMake upstream does not fit the needs of llvm/clang, and then fill those gaps. The recent update of the minimum version to CMake 2.8.8 is a good start. Before being able to assess what is missing, it should be ensured that the current codebase is as modern as the minimum version allows, and it needs to be cleaned up. 1)

[LLVMdev] RFC: Timeline for deprecating the autoconf build system?
Hi, I would like to propose deprecating the autoconf build system at some point in the future. Maintaining two build systems is a hassle not only for this project, but also for other projects that use LLVM and have to deal with the slight differences in output between the two build systems. It seems like most people are using CMake at this point, so my questions to the community are: - Is

Hello, thank you for the thoughts. > Have you seen the docs for CMake3.0 [1] (see cmake-buildsystem > especially)? Okay, the documentation has come a long way since 3.0 although it still needs a bit of polish. > I wouldn't say that much "important functionality is plain

Well, it is going to be "CMake only". Anyone who depends on autotools is going to be stuck on whatever the last revision is that we shipped with it. And I really don't see it being feasible
