summary.default rounding on numeric seems inconsistent with other R behaviors
I was wondering if it would make sense to change the default behavior of the following:

## Min. 1st Qu. Median Mean 3rd Qu. Max.
## 15560 15560 15560 15560 15560 15560

...R could do better here, let's hope in less than ten years
though. ;-)

Filed a bug and a patch is proposed: add fstat() to bypass [f]chmod() if
the password file has valid permissions 0600.
We had a similar case before,
a bit different is the password file is resident on a writable ext3/ext4,
and contantly [f]chmod() might have a performance impact on entry-level...

Kmeans performance difference
Hi All,
A question from a newbie using R 2-5-0 on windows XP. Why is it that
kmeans clustering with apparently the exact same parameters behaves so
differently between the two following examples :
> cl1 <- kmeans(subset(pointsUXO15555, select = c(2:4)), 10)
Takes about 2 seconds to deliver a result
> cl1 <- clust(subset(pointsUXO15555, select = c(2:4)), k=10,
method="kmeansHartigan")
Dies after about 10 minutes and fills up RAM :

Samba 3.0.14 (Debian Sarge) Memory Leakage
Hi!
Our Samba file server seems to have a memory leakage. We are using samba
as file server out of the box (debian sarge) on kernel 2.6.16.31.
After a while users who have some shares and files open are acquiring
more and more memory until the smbd dies.
Here is a small shortcut from top:

[LLVMdev] Why does "uwtable" prevent optimizing Invoke -> Call?
Hi,
in r176827 the optimization that turns invokes with empty landing pads
into plain calls was disabled for invocations of function with the
"uwtable" attribute.
But given this code:
struct S { ~S() {}; };
void blackbox();
__attribute__((__noinline__)) void inner() { blackbox(); }
int foo() {
S s;
inner();
return 0;
}
int bar() {
