I have strong suspicion that something is off with my R binary, i don't
think i experienced things like that in a long time. Is this in line with
what i am supposed to experience? Are there any ideas for diagnosing what
is going on?
Would appreciate...

High system in %system load .
Hello
Got strange problem with high system "%system load" and very slow user level
programs (apache+php+mysql) behavior
gstat shows 1.5-4% hard disk busy load but system shows about 20-30% load
while user load is max 5%.
vmstat shows from 2 to 35 process in "b" state.
Now use 7.0-RELEASE-p5 , but the same problem was with 7.0-RELEASE.
And have no idea what to do with this.

Slow IO: was [R] naive question
I believe IO in R is slow because of the way it is implemented, not
because it has to do some extra work for the user.
I compared scan() with 'what' argument set (which is, AFAIK, is the
fastest way to read a CSV file) to an equivalent C code. It turned out
to be 20 - 50 times slower.
I can see at least two main reasons why R's IO is so slow (I didn't
profile this though):
A) it

LoadAvg , Codec and Bandwidth Utilisation
1) If I see the Loadavg more than 4 , whats the immediate solution to get it
under 1 APART from restarting the server ?
2) I get too much of cross connections.
Can Codec be the culprit ? I use g729. Can using GSM will solve the problem
? What could be the other reasons ?
3) Anyway to measure the bandwidth utilisation from the server ?

exported ressources
Hello,
i wanted to know if we can use exported ressrouces to do things like this:
- for all nodes tagged as xxx create on the node yyy a file which content is a template where we can have each hostname
, or create one file per nodes matching
exemple
/etc/hosts.allow
sshd: host1
sshd: host2
...
or
/etc/backuppc/host1
/etc/backuppc/host2
...
from the docs it seems i can collect only ALL
