incoming traffic + iptable
...rk packet and then to filter them with tc. Here
is my script:
iptables -t mangle -A PREROUTING -s 172.28.54.41/32 -p tcp -j MARK
--set-mark 1
tc qdisc add dev eth0 handle ffff: ingress
tc filter add dev eth0 parent ffff: protocol ip prio 1 handle 1 fw police
rate 10000kbit burst 10000kbit mtu 1500k drop flowid :1
I can not use u32 because i have several filter with more than one IP
address in each.
Packets seem to be well marked (command: iptables -t mangle -L -vnx)
but packets are not filtered with tc.
Can someone help me ?
Thanks,
Olivier.

increasing memory size in R
How can I change thesize of the memory to, say --vsize=60 --nsize=1500k, once I have opened R?
I'm now using Windows98 and open R with an icon and don't know how to make the change once
I'm in R. I have no problem in Unix since I can specify the change when I first open R.

How to reduce size of samba binaries
Hi,
I'd like to reduce the size of the samba binaries. smbd for instance is
about 1.5 meg, which is way to much if you ask me. Is there a way to
create smaller binaries, maybe by compiling differently?
thanx,
Dennis

When there are two rebellious clients, they occupy 50-50% CPU time. If I
restart thunderbird, then all goes well for a couple of minutes. I need
to solve this problem. I already had a system crash that was probably
caused by the cpu heat. Pleas help me.

1.0-test44

I think I finally fixed the hangs some people have been having when
downloading mails. For some reason I could never reproduce this problem
with Linux or Solaris, but with OpenBSD it happened immediately. Stupid
problem with marking output buffer empty if it was full and write()
returned EAGAIN.
Other changes include:
- LDAP initialization crashed

2.0.7 & memory
Has anyone noticed 2.0.7 taking more memory per
process than 2.0.6 ?
Our 2.0.6 processes usually run at an RSS of 1500K,
but in 2.0.7 it's creeping up to 4000K at which point
our 2.0.7 server is swapping like crazy.
Alan.

Traffic Shaping multiple incoming broadband sources?
...me basic mistake I should be smacked around the head and shoulders repeatedly with a nerf bat for, but I need to ask what i have missed.
Or maybe a better way of designing the traffic shaping rules?

invalid regular expression after many grep's (PR#691)
Full_Name: J Utans
Version: 1.1.1
OS: NT4 (SP6)
Submission from: (NULL) (155.140.123.250)
After grep is called many times (> 250k), with constant strings as patterns,
it complains with "invalid regular expression" on calls that worked before
(with same pattern and x). At the same time copying to the clipboard
does no longer work with "out of memory" error (i.e. when trying

HTB Weird Shaping Question(Bug?). Please Help!
Hi all,
I have a script that allocates an ADSL(1500K/256K) bandwidth to three
users.
My idea is to allow each user having a guarentee rate, while each one is
allowed to burst to the max rate while no one is using the bandwidth.
I use imq0 for uplink (for some mobility reason) and imq1 for downlink.
Everything works smoothly except for VoIP traffic....
