fuzzy search
This may be offtopic to Rails, but what are people doing to find records based on fuzzy string matches? For example, if you wanted to find a Person with name "David Heinemeier Hansson" but searched using the string "Dave Hansson". Currently I am find_by_sql that calls the PostgreSQL function "levenshtein(string1, string2)" which returns results with a score

Dovecot crashes on certain spam messages
Dovecot crashes. I think it's because of some message in my spam folder. It has happened once before, and that time I solved it by deleting that folder. It happens when I start gnus ("Checking messages in folder spam" or something like that), which makes gnus just stop, or when I try to enter that folder in mutt. Gluster very poor performance when copying small files (1x (2+1) = 3, SSD)
Hi, As I posted in my previous emails - glusterfs can never match NFS (especially async one) performance of small files/latency. That's given by the design. Nothing you can do about it. Problems with Word 200 and Samba 2.2.6
I'm hoping someone has some insight into a problem I'm currenty having, which is: No one is able to edit (in place) documents with Word 2000 on a samba (2.2.6) disk share. A user can open word and save a document to the share, but when they go to edit the document Word says "Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error". From Microsoft KB Q211632 it appears
