unaccounted for daily growth in ZFS disk space usage
We finally flipped the switch on one of our ZFS-based servers, with
approximately 1TB of 2.8TB (3 stripes of 950MB or so, each of which is
a RAID5 volume on the adaptec card). We have snapshots every 4 hours
for the first few days. If you add up the snapshot references it
appears somewhat high versus daily use (mostly mail boxes, spam, etc
changing), but say an aggregate of no more than 400+MB a

Assistance with doveadm backup...
Not really. The suggestions in the post seemed to be:
1. Tar the whole directory, which I have tried in the past, but a 130G directory takes over 18 hours to tar.
2. It was also suggested to rsync the directory, but the question was brought up, and not answered, about whether it was advisable to copy live mail, thus the need for doveadm sync/backup.
Based on what I?ve read about doveadm backup, this is what I need, I am...

logical volume and drive names after mirroring a centos installation via rsync
...ng CentOS5, to the second drive (sdb) of server A.
I am unsure what should be done after mirroring to get the new system boot.
What I have done already:
- On server A/sdb I created the same partition layout and a little bit
bigger logical volumes as on server B/sda plus created the filesystems
(130G / fs and 200M /boot fs). The volume group and logical volumes have
different names. I have mounted the new volumes on server A.
- From server B/sda I rsynced all data to server A/sdb (excluding
/dev/*,/proc/*,/sys/*,/tmp/*,/run/*,/mnt/*,/media/*,/lost+found) whitle
most services were stopped on se...

Assistance with doveadm backup...
I am having trouble locating examples of how to use doveadm backup. All the examples I see are for sync. I simply want to create a backup to a network volume of the email server's vmail folders. The goal here is to have a reasonably current backup should the main drive on the email server go south.
We currently authenticate our users from a mysql database. User?s mailboxes are stored as

SLES 11 SP1 Client rpms built but not working
Hi all,
I used the method described below to build client rpms with the source kit lustre-1.8.5.tar.gz.
There was only one error reported during the make rpms, relating to lustre-iolit-1.2-root,
but the rpms were built under /usr/src/packages/RPMS/x86_64.
The rpms lustre-modules, lustre and lustre-tests were then installed smoothly without any complaints.
But the subsequent "modprobe
