Activate DVI-I behind KVM on FX 5200
Hi folks, I don't seem to be able to enable the DVI-I output of an old FX 5200 behind a KVM switch. Autodetection works fine if the FX 5200 DVI output is switched to the monitor, but when it is not, I have not found a way to force-enable it. Here is what I tried: *) used the video=DVI-I-1:1280x1024-24 at 60e kernel parameter (framebuffer still sits at 1024x768) *) used "options drm_kms_helper edid-firmware=edid/edid.bin" in /etc/modprobe.d/nouveau.conf. "no initrd here, drm-kms-helper.ko is loaded during bootstrap) *) downloaded the edid from the monitor and validated its cor...

AoEIII has 3 CDs so copied all files to a directory and installed. Now, to get wine to behave itself, I have set the graphics up to be in a 1280x1024 window and works fine from my calling script: #!/bin/bash cd "/home/jserink/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Age of Empires III/" wine age3.exe Now, I don't want all of wine to be in a 1280x1024 window, only the games so, I set winecfg to turn off the virtual desktop and...

HVM VNC display greater than 1280x1024
...#39;vnc=1'' in my Xen config file and an "UltraVNC server" running inside the Windows XP HVM. (but I usually only connect to the UltraVNC server). I''m not a VNC guru... Is it possible to somehow have a Windows XP system displayed using VNC that has a screen bigger than 1280x1024? Like 1600x1200 or 1920x1200? Or is the emulated Cirrus Logic 5446 limited to 1280x1024 and this limitation also applies to VNC? 4.4 on Dell D620: widescreenresolution?
Hi, Did anyone manage to get 4.4 working on a Dell D620 laptop? The thing has a 1440x900 LCD screen, but I don't get X the work with that resolution. (lspci: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)) Google suggested to use '915resolution', which I installed (915resolution-0.5.2-1.el4.rf), but that doesn't help. ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LY & IBM Thinkpad R40
Does anyone have any experience with the combination of a Thinkpad R40 and the ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LY video chip? I''ve had CentOS 4.1, 4.2, and now 4.3 running just great with 1024x768 resolution, but according the IBM specs, this chip is capable of 1280x1024. A quick lspci -v | grep ATI spewed the following: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LY (prog-if 00 [VGA]) I can successfully change the settings under the display menu to 1280x1024, but upon restarting X the default greeter crashes. How to set a different resolution?
...rent resolution properly. With the closed nvidia driver, I usually just click on krandrtray in KDE and pick a different resolution. With nouveau driver, though, it works as well, but only partially. I can see the resolution is theoretically changed (fonts, windows are bigger when I change from 1280x1024 to 1024x768), but technically, in my LCD monitor info I can see the resolution is still 1280x1024. Why? Because of this issue, I can't use my beamer (dual-head), which only supports resolutions up to 1024x768. -- Tomasz Chmielewski http://wpkg.org

Can't get resolution higher than 1280x1024 - Centos 5

Even as root, that is the highest I can set the display. I am guessin the kernel does not support my combo? I've also tried Nvidia's driver from their site, this is what I...

Nouveau doesn't use the maximal resolution of my screen and GPU
Hi everybody, I'm using Lubuntu 14.04 on an old desktop PC with a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS and a screen of 19 inches. The maximal resolution of my screen with Nvidia drivers is 1280x1024. (In particular, I use the Nvidia 331.89 driver) With Nouveau driver, the maximal resolution falls to 1024x768. Is there a solution for increasing the maximum resolution with Nouveau ? Best regards, Victor Lef?vre

FPGA implementation/ players speed?
Today I've got first video clips made by the camera and compressed "on the fly" - 1280x1024x30fps. Image quality is far from perfect - I don't have yet any way to preview images, and a single acquisition still requires a bunch of commands. So I'm really close to have a camera that will be able to serve the Ogg/Theora streams, now but will it be possible to play it on a PC? I could...
