Suppressing Form Feeds
Try adding the 'sf' option to the printer definition in /etc/printcap.
The 'sf' stands for 'suppress form feeds'.
If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll send you a copy of my printer
definition, since I had the same problem and was able to fix it with one
of the options.

via the "Drivers for different versions of Windows" section of the
sharing tab in the printer properties, but only successfully for ONE
printer (Out of 5 so far). The printer is an HP LaserJet 4050 PS.
Attempts to do the same with the other 4 printers (two of which are
Brother 1270N, one is a Brother 1670N, and the other is a HP 2500C)
fail; I get a lame dialog box claiming that "The printer driver you
selected is either not compatible with your current version of Windows,
or it may not be available. Select a compatible driver for the list, or
contact your Administrator...
