openssh-2.9.9p2 session.c fails on Solaris 7,8 w/ SunPro C
FYI-- session.c fails from openSSH 2.9.9p2 with SunPro C compiler on Solaris 7, 8. The function do_pre_login had to be moved to before its use in do_exec_pty (a predeclaration would work). It does appear to work correctly, given the above fix. Still having the largefile problem (argh), so if anyone can help with /that/ ... -- Austin David -- Sr. Systems Architect Wink Communications

ACLs under Samba 3.3.0
Is behavior of ACLs under Samba 3.3.0 (Sernet) completely different from that under version 3.2.7? The release notes only talks about some "fixes". I installed version 3.3.0 and got completely different result with the same filesystem and the exact same samba configuration. The ACLs behaved strangely and appeared very different under Windows ACL editor. Users were now unable to

Asterisk as a stand alone voice mail server
I'm sure asterisk would make a great stand alone voice mail server. Basically I want to get rid of our voice mail system and replace it with *, but the problem is we use a cisco cluster with skinny clients. So I was thinking the way to contact a * server, would be through our 3640. But so far any attempt has failed. I am wondering if anyone has done something similar. Just want to verify the

[RFC PATCH V2 0/5] vhost: accelerate metadata access through vmap()
This series tries to access virtqueue metadata through kernel virtual address instead of copy_user() friends since they had too much overheads like checks, spec barriers or even hardware feature toggling. This is done through setup kernel address through vmap() and resigter MMU notifier for invalidation. Test shows about 24% improvement on TX PPS. TCP_STREAM doesn't see obvious improvement.

[PATCH vhost v11 00/10] virtio core prepares for AF_XDP
## About DMA APIs Now, virtio may can not work with DMA APIs when virtio features do not have VIRTIO_F_ACCESS_PLATFORM. 1. I tried to let DMA APIs return phy address by virtio-device. But DMA APIs just work with the "real" devices. 2. I tried to let xsk support callballs to get phy address from virtio-net driver as the dma address. But the maintainers of xsk may want to use
