Splitting a character variable into a numeric one and a character one?
Hi All,
I have a data with a variable like this:
Column 1
"123abc"
"12cd34"
"1e23"
...
Now I want to do an operation that can split it into two variables:
Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
"123abc" 123 "abc"
"12cd34" 12 "cd34"
"1e23...

regexpr help (match.length=0)
...cters (a-z) in 'abc123';
regexpr returns a 3-character match beginning at the first character.
> regexpr("[[:alpha:]]*", "abc123")
[1] 1
attr(,"match.length")
[1] 3
However, when the text is flipped regexpr, and I ask for a match of all
characters in '123abc', regexpr returns a zero-character match beginning
at the first character. Can someone explain what a zero length match
means (i.e. why not return -1), and why the result isn't 4,
match.length=3?
> regexpr("[[:alpha:]]*", "123abc")
[1] 1

Totally confused creating expanded login

sets a couple of variables that limit what the user can do. I got the
user verification working but can not figure out how to save the other
information or how to access it elsewhere.
I need the other information to limit the records the user can access.
For example user 123abc may only look at records marked with a number
that is part of his user record. I also want to retrieve the full name
for the user from the user record for logging and display purposes.
In the language I normally use I could do all of the above in minutes,

OpenH323 channel driver, Q931 Calling party number
...e use of GnuGK as a h.323 proxy,
I'd would very much like to see something in asterisk that would enable
the
possibility to supply such details from the dial plan.
Perhaps, a short term solution would be to supply some hints to the app
SetCallerID i.e:
exten => _0..,2,SetCallerID(123123;123abc)
And then parse this (123abc) in the Open H.323 channel driver?
This way no changes would be neccesary to Asterisk.
Another way would be to add a SetCallerIDDetails app ..
Any ideas/comments?

Add instantly active local user accounts *with* password using useradd -p option ?
Hi,
I need to setup a load of user accounts on a series of machines, for
testing purposes. I'm using a script to do this, but the only problem I
have so far: I have to activate them all manually by doing passwd user1,
passwd user2, passwd user3, etcetera. The useradd man page mentions a -p
option to define a password, but I can't seem to get this to work.
Here's what I'd like
