Random Disconnects
I am hoping some of you can help me troubleshoot this problem I am
having with my home asterisk machine. I have incoming POTS service
using a SPA-3000 (extension 119). Calls on that line go to an
attendant recording that offers a menu choice: press 1 for Nancy,
press 2 for the rest of us. In reality, pressing anything other than
1 sends the call to the rest of us by dialing both extensions 101 and
109. Tonight we received a call on this POTS line. The calle...

[PATCH] Notify caching_thread()s to give up on extent_commit_sem when needed.
caching_thread()s do all their work under read access to extent_commit_sem.
They give up on this read access only when need_resched() tells them, or
when they exit. As a result, somebody that wants a WRITE access to this sem,
might wait for a long time. Especially this is problematic in
cache_block_group(),
which can be called on critical paths like find_free_extent() and in commit

Unique Pairs based on a Minimum Value
...n to do some data frame manipulations and I could use a little advice.
I have tried various combinations of 'unique', 'min' and 'apply' with
no luck.
Given this simple example data (x, y)
x<-c(10, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16 ,17, 17, 17)
y<-c(112, 117, 111, 117, 114, 113, 119, 121, 130)

5 15 114
6 16 113
7 17 119
8 17 121
9 17 130
I have been attempting to get all those unique 'x-y' combinations for
which the y column is the minimum of the values y takes for each unique
x (ID variable)...

[LLVMdev] SysUtils.c compile problem on Mac OSX 10.3 with llvm-1.4
I am currently running on a Mac OSX 10.3.8 and trying to
compile llvm-1.4 on my local machine for Prof. Adve's class.
I am using Apple's provided gcc 3.3 as my compiler.
I ran into this compile error:

this function)
SysUtils.c:119: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported
only once

what is the timeout issue? timeouts can be caused by filters
that maintain connection state and have timeouts; or TCP keepalives

this should probably be "invalid"

Need help with rate-limiting NTTP traffic
...'d like
to limit it to 800kbit. This was a breeze with dummynet, but I''m not
getting how to do it correctly with netfilter.
Here''s what I tried:
$IPT -t mangle -N SHAPE-NNTP
$IPT -t mangle -I PREROUTING -i $WANIFACE -j SHAPE-NNTP
$IPT -t mangle -A SHAPE-NNTP -p tcp --sport 119 -j MARK --set-mark 119
My thoughts on placing it in PREROUTING is that I''d like to shape the
traffic as soon as possible so that my firewall gets the benefit of
dealing with the reduced load as soon as possible. But, maybe that''s
just foolishness?
Here''s the tc rules I...

Is this the intended behaviour ?
