111b virt-install failure
Hi,
I''ve been using xVM with no problems since 2009.06 release (centos4/5, rhel4/5, sol10 as guests). This was using the 111a version. Just installed a new server with the 111b version

zfs send hangs
...ination server I use:
nc -l -p 8023 | zfs receive -vd sas
On the source server I use:
zfs send -vR promise1/rbackup at daily.1 | nc mothra 8023
The filesystems on both servers are the same (zfs version 3). The
source zpool is version 22 (build 129), and the destination server is
version 14 (build 111b).
Rsync does not have this problem and performs extremely well. However,
it will not transfer snapshots. Two other send/receives (234GB and
451GB) between the same servers have worked fine without hanging.
Thanks,

postscript/eps label clipping

If I don't set a pointsize, the letters aren't clipped, but the graphs
are tiny with respect to the x/y labels. Is there something else I should
be adjusting instead?

xenconsole: Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory
After upgrading to build 125 if indiana, I have not been able to get the xen stuff running. Downgrading back to 111b make things work again.
Under 125, after the boot has completed without errors, my xvm domain (a gentoo pv domain) looks like it is running but it does not build up time and never seems to complete its boot. Trying to connect to the console give the error

Is anyone using R with postgres? I'd like to do so, but cannot seem to
find any reasonable explanation of how to do so.

Repeating scrub does random fixes
I''ve been using a 5-disk raidZ for years on SXCE machine which I converted to OSOL. The only time I ever had zfs problems in SXCE was with snv_120, which was fixed.
So, now I''m at OSOL snv_111b and I''m finding that scrub repairs errors on random disks. If I repeat the scrub, it will fix errors on other disks. Occasionally it runs cleanly. That it doesn''t happen in a consistent manner makes me believe it''s not hardware related.

Expand zpool capacity
Hello, Experts.
I''ve got a problem. I''m trying to expand my main zpool (rpool), but don''t know how to do that. (i''m 100% newbie in non-windows world)
I use Osol under Vmware on Windows.
I had a pretty small vhdd -> only 12gb. Yesterday i decided to expand my virtual drive to 20gb. (After several tries to upgrade the OS to a newest dev-releases and

packets from DomU on VLAN disappear
Hi,
I have a problem similar to the previous poster (thread: Virtual network of DomU''s), but apparently not with similar solutions...
Situation:
- two physical links aggregated to "default0"
- dladm create-vlan on default0 with several different vlans
- xVM DomU running linux connected to the same vlans
when trying to ping the DomU from Dom0, I can see with snoop (in Dom0)

virt-manager won''t show details
Hi all!
I''m hoping someone here can help me out.
I''ve got a "fresh" install of OpenSolaris 2009.06 and xVM as downloaded by pkg. I haven''t upgraded to the latest development branch, so my kernel is still 111b, and xVM is 3.1.4-xvm.
I''ve created a vm, and is starts and boots off the iso, etc just fine. However, if I go into "Virtual Machine Manager", select the domain and click "details", nothing happens. This occurs on any domU I create. If I select Domain-0 and click...

It seems like it wouldn't be difficult, and that someone may have already
implemented a set of stack functions, and I wouldn't like to duplicate it.

source function help
I am new to R and have probably a very simple
question...
I am using the "source" function to read an R source
file called, let's say, "first.r". This file was
created in Notepad in Windows 2000. This is a
simplistic example, but let's say in this file I have
the following commands:
x<-c(0,2,3,4,5,6)
y<-mean(x)

When I run this source function I assumed

ZFS behavior under limited resources
I am trying to see how ZFS behaves under resource starvation - corner cases in embedded environments. I see some very strange behavior. Any help/explanation would really be appreciated.
My current setup is :
OpenSolaris 111b (iSCSI seems to be broken in 132 - unable to get multiple connections/mutlipathing)
iSCSI Storage Array that is capable of
20 MB/s random writes @ 4k and 70 MB random reads @ 4k
150 MB/s random writes @ 128k and 180 MB/S random reads @ 128K
180+ MB/S for sequntial reads and write at both 4k and...

Maximum zfs send/receive throughput
It seems we are hitting a boundary with zfs send/receive over a network
link (10Gb/s). We can see peak values of up to 150MB/s, but on average
about 40-50MB/s are replicated. This is far away from the bandwidth that
a 10Gb link can offer.
Is it possible, that ZFS is giving replication a too low
priority/throttling it too much?

Is LSI SAS3081E-R suitable for a ZFS NAS ?
According to various posts the LSI SAS3081E-R seems to work well with OpenSolaris.
But I''ve got pretty chilled-out from my recent problems with Areca-1680''s.
Could anyone please confirm that the LSI SAS3081E-R works well ?
Is hotplug supported ?
Anything else I should know before buying one of these cards ?
Thanks,
Arnaud
