R-2.6.2 Solaris 11 build, install, and check failures (PR#11093)
Actually, things weren't great using Solaris 9, but building and installing
under Solaris 11 required some workarounds - the installation process
seems to fail completely under Solaris 11. A plain "./configure" fails
in pretty much the same way.
Note: "make" is aliased to "gmake -j 4" to use all 4 cpus in this hardware.

ext3 and df don't agree ?
I've taken my RH7.1 system, rebuild kernel (2.4.9 with ext3 patches) and
followed the ext3 instructions to install.
Everything seems to work OK but -
df -k
doesn't list the ext3 partition (my root partition).
Is this a known problem ?
If not, how best can I gather diagnostics to identify the source of the
problem ?
Thanks

The CDRfix4 branch is based on 1.4;
The CDRfix6 branch is based on trunk (which is still
close enough to 1.6.0 that it won't take much effort
to merge it 1.6.0 also.)
The bugs that will hopefully be addressed are:

The goal was to restore the code roughly to 1.2 behavior when it
came to transfers, minus any bad behavior that 1.2 had.
So, entire legs missing from transfers, missing or bad times, etc,

Point-and-Print driver installation asks for confirmation on current Windows
Hello,
when deploying drivers via Point-and-Print recent Windows (tested with
Windows 10 1607) asks the user to confirm the driver installation. An
appropriate Policy [1] is set up so that no user interaction should be
required for the driver installation.
There are similar reports [2,3] that identify updates KB3163912,
KB3172985 and KB3170455 causing these issues. However, Windows 10 1607

My latest submission of survival3.1-10 to CRAN fails? a check, but only on windows, which
I don't use.
How do I track this down?
The test in question works fine on my Linux box.

survival bug?
FWIW Microsoft provides evaluation version of Windows that can be easily installed using VirtualBox and runs for 180 days. One that I believe is the closest to the CRAN setup (Windows 2008) is:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/download/details.aspx?id=11093
You just tell VB to setup a Windows 2008 VM then, select the downloaded ISO as CD-ROM drive and install from it. The installation is fairly easy and then you only have to download Rtools.exe and R from CRAN. I recommend picking a custom location for R that is painless to type, e.g C:\R. To make it...
