[PATCH xf86-video-nouveau] Properly cleanup fb for reverse-prime-offload
...de_xf86crtc_resize(), but on a subsequent
drmmode_set_scanout_pixmap(NULL) it would not remove the fb.
This keeps the crtc marked as busy, which causes the dgpu to not
being able to runtime suspend, after an output attached to the dgpu
has been used once. Which causes burning through an additional 10W
of power and the laptop to run quite hot.
This commit adds the missing remove fb call, allowing the dgpu to runtime
suspend after an external monitor has been plugged into the laptop.

XPCC XVRT-1000 driver
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Has anyone used nut with a XPCC UPS, in particular one of the XVRT
units? Their supplied monitoring tool "works", but I'd really prefer to
use nut if possible. I've systematically gone through each of the
drivers in /lib/nut and none seem to talk with the unit properly.
I'll be talking with a XPCC support person tomorrow, though

By 'Enable tests' do you mean implementing support for min/max ..

What do you plan to measure exactly? Runtime performance?
I think another very interesting thing...

CentOS 6 : Tip for significantly increasing battery life / reducing power consumption (Thinkpad X220 Tablet)
Hello,
I was not happy with the power consumption of CentOS 6 x86_64 on a new
Lenovo Thinkpad x220 Tablet and I worked on reducing it. I just wanted
to share with the list one of the changes which gave me the most
significant improvement.
As per http://www.williambrownstreet.net/blog/?p=387, add the
following kernel arguments to the GRUB boot configuration:

CS 1.6 lagging badly (Intel 4500MHD)
Hey, I'm running Ubuntu Maverick with Wine 1.2.2. Computer specs on my signature.
I'm trying to play Counter Strike 1.6 on my netbook at my philosophy classes, but I'm getting a lot of lag (we're talking about <10 FPS here).
When I had the power-hog Windows, I used to play it nicely, around 60fps (hey, I'm on a netbook), but now in Ubuntu Mav., I'm getting that slow

looking for input on broadband router with QoS andVPN support
Bob,
Have you looked at any of the products by Zyxel? With QOS, VPN & wireless
support they have:
For ADSL: Prestige 652HW
Firewall/Router: Zywall 10W & 30W
I'll be honest, I havn't used any of these yet. We were looking for similar
products to suuport our VOIP installs. We just ordered some demo units from
Zyxel, we shoul have them later this week. I'll let you know our impression
of them after we test.

I am using TLP to manage battery use, the driver might not like things getting turned off to save power

Any suggestions on my best way to just keep the nvidia chip off reliably?
nouveau? bbswitch? other?
(and before you ask, no, you cannot turn it off in the bios, it's hybrid or nvidia only)
If that helps, here is what I got when I tried to use hybrid graphics to power an external

Samba embedded device?
Hi team!
At work I have several small branch offices with ~5 PCs each. All PCs are
member of a Samba4 domain, whose DCs are on the headquarters (linked by
consumer grade VPNs)
I want to ship "some small, cheap, reliable and magical device" to each
branch, in order to provide just 2 things:
* AD replication
* File shares
That't it, period. Nothing fancy.
Suggestions??? What do you

Legal issues for non-profit radio stations.
Hi All,
Some time ago I emailed this list and mentioned (as well as a couple of
techinical queries) that I was trying to contact the PRS for information on
the copyright licencing requirements of a non-profit on-line radio station,
a few people expressed interest in this and asked I keep them updated. Well
I just sent my third email (transcript below) informing them that I will
assume a further
