How
...0:1 is the class that limits the download rate to my requested 10 kbyte per second. Using either of the matches above will redirect all matched packets through the filter of the matching class. But in this case cumulative bandwidth of the traffic computers on the matching network will be limited to 10kbyte. What do I have to do so that the traffic of each host on the network will get a download limit of 10 kbyte per second. Do I have to create classes 10:n where n is the number of hosts, or do I have to change my matching pattern. Or can I create a class that will match the traffic of each host in...

"For ethernet, no packet uses less than 64 bytes" - why?
Hi Well, subject says all. In Chapter 9.2.2.1, TBF, the parameter mpu or "minimum packet size" is explained as: > A zero-sized packet does not use zero bandwidth. For ethernet, no packet > uses less than 64 bytes. The Minimum Packet Unit determines the minimal > token usage for a packet. In my understanding an ethernet packet needs at least 14 (2*6+2) bytes or 54 bytes if

I used settings which would reflect an average mailservers usage (using maildir format of course): 51200 files, ranging from 100 byte to ~10kbyte distributed over 1000 directories (-s0 -n50:10000:100:1000). Here are the bonnie++ results i got: ext2: Version 1.02a ------Sequential Create------ --------Random Create-------- testMX -Create-- --Read--- -Delete-- -Create-- --Read--- -Delete-- files:max:min /sec %CP /...

RE: CBQ-wondershaper superior over HTB-wondershaper?
...d after a while drops down to 60 again and again to 140 and so forth and so forth. Does anyone of you have an idea how I can minimize this effect, and let pings be stable at 60 ms? stable 80ms delay are okay for me too, no question. If I let the worst-priority bulkdownload class ceil up only to 10kbyte/s I have the same effect, only when the max ceil class is put down under 6 i do not have this changing ping effect. Here''s still my script, if you are interested to look at it. #!/bin/bash DEV=ppp0 # delete any qdiscs or rule sets created so far. tc qdisc del dev $DEV root 2> /dev...

2.6.14 - HTB/SFQ QoS broken?
Hello, First of all, I already contacted Martin Devera, the developer of HTB, and he told me to search for help on this mailinglist, thus I am describing my problems here now... I am kind of seriously annoyed by QoS as I have been trying for over 3 years to get it working properly - first I did not understand how it works, then it seemed not to work, then it was working perfectly for half a
