Designjet 1050C, JetDirect question
Any problems serving up this plotter with Samba 2.2.4?
I am using RH 7.3, the plotter has a jetdirect card. I am not using samba
print drivers, just passing it through raw to 192.168.21.50:raw1. Planning
to let windows 98 clients use their own drivers.
I couldn't get a job to print (from linux or windows). I ran out of time for
today, picking up again on Monday.
Any gotcha's I need to

IMPRINTS: mkprintpkg.pl unable to expand microsoft cab file
Jerry,
Perhaps you could help me with a problem building a Samba print package.
I've downloaded the drivers files I need from HP. I run the appropriate
mkprintpkg.pl command, but it dies with the following output:

Printer errors
Hello all,
Got SAMBA running on a linux 2.0.32 box, and all is well. Looked over the
docs and set up my printer with the (what I think) are correct entries.
Basically, what the default smb.conf has. Testparms says it o.k.! And I
can print (lpr) locally.
Windows sees both printcap entries (inkjet and psjet), but any attempt to
pring to them errors out. I then added the print command =

Change print job priority
Hi list members,

Print Capture problem
...chitectural package that only prints to LPT1 or LPT2. He has a locally
attached laser printer on LPT1, a couple of network attached plotters that I
want to use on LPT2. The client software is Win98 SE.
I wrote a couple of batch files that went like this:
net use lpt2 /delete
net use lpt2 \\server\1050c
and
net use lpt2 /delete
net use lpt2 \\server\oce
Seemed clever enough to me, he clicks the corresponding icon on the desktop
to toggle which plotter is available. After one or two times, he gets the
following error:
"This device does not exist on the network. reading device

No access check deleting printer drivers
Hello list!
On all my samba installations (3.0.20b) I can delete all unused printer
drivers with rpcclient regardless which user name or password i use.
Is this a general feature or might it depend on my settings?
Thanks,
Martin
