Is the samba-dc package on Centos 7 gimped?
...ient-4.1.1-37.el7_0.x86_64 packages on their Centos 7. The problem is I can't find samba-tool anywhere so I can't provision the domain controller for them tonight. Threads like this one http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/535153-centos-7-samba-domain-controller and this one http://centos.1050465.n5.nabble.com/CentOS-SAMBA-as-AD-DC-td5729374.html are giving me the sinking feeling that I will have to build the Samba suite from source because Red Hat didn't want something easier to use than slapd to compete with the authentication suite they are trying to sell. Can I get a confirmation t...

Grub2 utilities missing from Rescue environment in build 1708
...l and a majority of the other grub2-* utilities are no longer present in the Rescue environment. These were there in 1611. Anyone know if this was a purposefully-made decision (and why?), or an oversight? I've checked both the DVD and Everything iso. Not there. -- Sent from: http://centos.1050465.n5.nabble.com/

Happy new years everyone
hi, 2012 has been a great and eventful year for CentOS, the project. CentOS the Linux Distribution and for everyone involved, including the users. Along with new initiatives, lots of new relationships came up - and most of all, lots of new people stepped up to help in various corners of the project. Hope to see even more new efforts kicking off in 2013 and even more people getting involved.

Chromium 31.0.1650.63-2.el6 for CentOS 6
All, As has already been brought up, we have not yet been able to build the new version of Chromium-32 for CentOS, and the current version (31.0.1650.63-1.el6) needs updating. We have also recently been informed that we may not redistribute the PepperFlash Library from the Google site (libpepflashplayer.so) as we did in 31.0.1650.63-1.el6. Therefore, I have had to rebuild the currently released

Cannot remount drive after lost iSCSI connection
Hi all, We've having an issue at the moment where an iSCSI connection was temporarily lost on a few VMs running CentOS 6 on ESXi. The problem is, now that the iSCSI connection has returned, we are not able to remount the drive. At first the drive is read-only, so I tried '*mount -o remount,rw*' which didn't work (still read-only), so then I tried a '*umount*' (which

Setting up postfix under CentOS-6
I recently, perhaps foolishly, changed over a remote server from sendmail/procmail to postfix/amavis/spamassassin/clamd , and I'm finding it difficult to configure this setup. The CentOS document <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/postfix> explicitly says that its instructions may not work in CentOS-6. Does anyone know of reasonably simple postfix documentation for CentOS-6? I've been

weird RPM dependency error; '/bin/sh' needed, but is provided
First off, I have to admit that I'm uncertain if this is the appropriate forum; I'd be happy for suggestions about where else to look. I'm doing this work on a stock install of CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1810.iso, with no updates. I'm trying to create an RPM database from a custom set of RPMs. One RPM ('openldap-ltb' from the LDAP Tool Box project (ltb-project.org) has a
