I can''t remember when it happened, or if it coincided with a shorewall update, but if I have shorewall "running", my 100mbps connection is limited to about 1-6mbps per connection. This is with TC/Shaping/QoS disabled or enabled. The samba server I'm mounting to is running on a 1.2GHz Celeron, 256MB SDRAM, using a raid5 array with an XFS filesystem on ATA drives with a 100mbps nic. The bottleneck here is the 100mbps nic, which theoretically will give me a max throughput from the server of 12.5MB/sec, so I'm fairly satisfied to see 10MB/sec from the nfs test. Anyone know off the top of their head the "right" way to hard set a link automatically to 100Mbps Full Duplex, etc using the ifup or ifcfg files? Don't see options in the scripts that might cover this, but maybe there's a more elegant way to do it than to do something in rc.local or hack up the ifup files myself... Ray
