md5 fail on large file
...c /h /r I have also tried to delete the old files from the samba share, but nothing change: I always get two different md5sum. With smaller files (400MB) md5sum is identical. When I transfer this large file with ftp (proftpd 1.2.9 on Linux), md5sum is ok. These two systems are connected to a 3COM 100bit/s switch. No collision/no error are detected at linux side box. Samba doesn't log anything relevant. No kernel error. Nothing. Samba box is running Slackware 9.1 + kernel 2.4.25 + samba 3.0.2a compiled from sources. Hints? bypassing qdisc for some traffic
Hello everybody. I would like to enable QoS on the internal firewall NIC (eth2) to prevent bandwidth saturation from ftp downloads (for example). This is my firewall schema. ___ private network (100bit/s FD) / / /\ | / //\\ |/ || |eth2 \\ | \\ traffic flow from dmz +-----+-----+ \\ to private network | | || (fr...

Rsync Throughput issues
...t be slowing us down. We then tried to use rsync as a server and push the data to the module/zone of the server. Consistently, it takes roughly 2 minutes to transfer 10meg of data I thought it was a network problem so we tried ftp. A 10 mb file took 90% the time (about 20 seconds. This is on a 100bit Full Duplex switched network with both boxes on the SAME subnet. Am I missing something? Should I expect these speeds? Could there be something on the App switch throttling rsync for some reason? Any thought will help, Ben Ricker System Administrator Wellinx.com
