CentOS on Eee PC 1000H
Hi folks Anybody running CentOS on Eee PC 1000H? In CentOS wiki[0] there is a draft about Eee PC 900 from Fabian Arrotin. Does the same howto work for Eee PC 1000H? So far he writes: > Waiting for an official way to host the necessary rpms ... Where to download WiFi and NIC driver? regards Sven [0] http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/...

Not receiving real data from a Eaton E series DX 1000H UPS
UPS: http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/ESeriesUPS/DXUPS/index.htm?wtredirect=www.eaton.com/DXUPS I have the same problem on two different computers. The first one is running Ubuntu 12.10 i386 , the second one is running Debian 6.0 x64. Both of them are updated. I tried using different serial cable but the result is the same. Request info on managing MySQL
Good day/night/whatever fellow techies, I've come to a small problem managing mysql on CentOS 4.7 box[1]. When I have done things on mysql on my desktop systems it was always just for personal use so I would be lazy and put everything under the "test" db so I didn't have to deal with all that security. But I find that I need to put some db's on the "production"

SYSLINUX 2.04 released
...NUX installer changes out there, which hopefully is a good thing. New release mostly to address the MEMDISK corruption issue. Changes in 2.04: * ALL: Reclaim even more low memory by observing that comboot_seg == real_mode_seg is perfectly fine, and by the fact that the 1000h segment managed to get unused in all derivatives... * PXELINUX: Attempt to negotiate full Ethernet-sized blocks (1468 bytes) using the blksize option. * SYSLINUX: Resurrect the old no-mtools version of the installer, although as a root-only tool. R on netbooks et al?
Dear useRs, With the rise of netbooks and 'lifestyle laptops" I am tempted to get one of these to mainly run R on it. Processor power and hard disk space seem to be ok. What I wonder is the handling and feel with respect to R. Has anyone here installed or is running R on one of these, and if so, what is your experience? Would it be more of a nice looking gadget than a feasable platform
