Label justification (axis) (PR#13307)
Full_Name: Martin Karl-Friedrich Bader Version: 2.8.0 OS: 10.5.3 Submission from: (NULL) (131.152.1.1) Hi there, when using las=1 on the y-axis the labels keep their centered justification, e.g. if you plot a graph using the axis command: axis(side=2, at=c(0,50, 100, 125), lab=c("0","50","100", " "), las=1), then the 0 and the 50 are centered in relation

dev.off() inside a function & other glitches
Hi R people I am using a function to create a pdf device, then send a lot of plots to it in a loop then a last lattice xyplot (itself within a function) outside the loop and finally call dev.off() to write to the file. This works well apart from the fact that the last plot does not get sent to the file unless I comment out dev.off() and then apply it in the console afterwards instead:

OS X Software Updates
Hi all, I''m wondering how people are handling OS X package installers that require reboots (e.g. 10.5.3) with Puppet - specifically how you get them to install without totally irritating your users. Specifically my client environment is 100% laptops, and many of them voyage home with users each day so just telling puppet to install them at 1am and to hell with user data*, so

--exclude with whitespace
Hi I am using the default rsync 2.6.3 on OS X 10.5.3 and having issues with my exclude options. I want to exclude a directory which has whitespace in its name e.g. "My Directory" by adding --exclude="My Directory" as a relative path. Now this exclude filter only works when the name does not contain a whitespace. Is this problem rsync specific? Thanks, Philippe

avoid using Dingbats symbols for points()
Hi, I came across with a tiny problem. E.g.: pdf() plot(1:5) points(2, 3, cex=10, pch=21, bg="grey", lwd=0.3) points(2, 4, cex=1, pch=21, bg="grey", lwd=0.3) dev.off() If I execute this I'll get a nice PDF. Fine. But I want to edit this PDF with let's say by using Adobe Illustrator. If I try to open it Illustrator shows up an error message: Missing Type 1 fonts

Extremly slow (3-4k/s) on Win clients while Linux clients work fine
Hi, I've migrated a Win2k fileserver to Samba 3.0.33 on Gentoo (Kernel 2.6.28). While the Linux clients work fine, I get the absolutely worst transferrates on Win (XP Prof + Vista) like 3-4k/s (compared to ~10MB/s on Linux). When copying larger files on Windows, they start this slow, but the transfer becomes faster after some time like 2Mbit/s via WLAN which would be acceptable. I've

Compile error with 1.1rc6
I'm trying a very basic ./configure; make of v1.1rc6 under Mac OS X 10.5.3. I have previously installed v1.1rc5 with no problems (although I was running OS X 10.5.2 at the time). Machine is an Intel based Mac Mini running on an Journaled HFS+ partition. When I attempt the make I am running into: <snip> gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../src/lib -I../../src/lib- mail

I don't know if this is the appropriate site to post a Darwine question. If not please feel free to point me to a more appropriate stie. Mac OS X issue since 0.9.59
In short, when running a application via wine, the active window migrates down my screen until it disappears, and then returns from the top of the screen. This problem did not exist with 0.9.58, but has been present ever since. I compile wine from source by running ./tools/wineinstall, as suggested in the README file that comes with the source. Can anyone else verify this problem? Or is it local

Xrender and OpenGL troubles in Darwine
Hey all, I'm very new to Wine, but I was very excited about the potential behind it, so I tried installing the 2.2.3 X11 XQuartz package from http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/Releases and kronenberg.org/darwine 's stable 1.0 version of Darwine on my Macbook that is running Leopard 10.5.3. The installs were easy, but I'm having some difficulty now with actually getting some
