FLAC 1.2.1 on OS X 10.4.11
hi, according to the FAQ flac supports multichannel formats. i had no luck with 1.1.4 though ( "Untitled.aif: ERROR: unsupported number channels 8 for AIFF" ), i guess that feature was added in 1.2? unfortunately, the binary for 1.2 does not run on OS X 10.4 (says libiconv is too old). i removed libiconv and reinstalled that from source, but then flac 1.2.1 just prints

Passed all tests with flying colors on Mac OS X 10.4.11 - synopsis of installation and testing
Awesome work Wayne. I have been following the various threads about running rsync 3.0.0 on MacOS X 10.4.11 and wanted to confirm that following all the various bits of advice yields a clean running rsync (as tested by backup bouncer). I am running MacOS X 10.4.11 on PPC. The following is a synopsis of my installation procedure (as gathered from the various emails in the archive) - note

[LLVMdev] LLVM on Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11
Hello, I apologize if this has been covered before but has anyone successfully built llvm on Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.11)? I upgraded to Xcode 2.4.1 and got the binaries for the llvm-gcc frontend and the source for llvm. I built llvm but realized that the frontend binaries required libiconv version 7.0.0. but the version on Tiger is 5.0.0. Trying to build the frontend from source gives me a bunch

[LLVMdev] LLVM on Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11
Looks like I was a little too ambitious in getting version LLVM-2.5 to build on Mac OS X Tiger which uses gcc 4.0.1. LLVM -2.2 built fine. I did get the LLVM-2.5 tree to build but it was the gcc front-end part of it that failed. If anyone has built the both parts of version 2.5 on Tiger please let me know. Thanks, Bijoy. Rsync 3.0.3 with patches on OS X 10.4.11 fails to copy ACLs
I am using rsync 3.0.3 to copy a remote RAID volume on one Xserve to the local RAID volume on an other Xserve. Both Xserves are running OS X Server 10.4.11. I have compiled rsync 3.0.3 on both machines and patched it following Mike Bombich's instructions at http://www.bombich.com/mactips/rsync.html After some struggles, and with invaluable help from the list, I how have an rsync script running

Rsync 3.0.3 with patches on OS X 10.4.11 fails to copy ACLs
Check that ACL's are enabled on the destination volume. RSPerl on OS X Server 10.4.11
Hello, I tried the R-Sig-Mac list with this query, but had no takers. I hope that the following isn't too far off the mark for this list. Many thanks in advance if someone can help me out! Quick summary: I can't get RSPerl working on a PPC G5 with the pre-compiled binary for Mac OS X, but it does work if I compile R from source with the "--enable-R-shlib" flag. If I

Re: I'm having trouble compiling wine 1.0.1 on Mac OS 10.4.11
You no doubt have already found a solution or given up, but in case someone else (like me!) is trying to find a solution to the same problem, here was mine: upgrade your Xcode Tools version. Grab version 2.5, if you're running OS 10.4 (Tiger), and try again. You'll probably need to clean up the build directory... I THINK the command is port clean --all wine, but I did this manually so

How to escape spaces in rsync source and destination paths
This may not be an rsync-specific question, but it is certainly stopping me from moving forward with rsync and I am sure it has a simple solution. I have written a simple shell script to rsync disks attached to a Mac OS X Server 10.4.11 Xserve box at our offices to a similar Mac OS X Server 10.4.11 setup at our colocation facility. The script runs rsync 3.0.3 on the machine at the colocation
