Multichannel working at half speed with 2x NICs
Sorry for the delay Jeremy. I ran strace on the lowest pid for smbd (I ran "pidof smbd" to get pids, and used the lowest one of the 4 or so that came up). Command was "strace -f -o strace.log `ls /proc/2019/task/ | xargs -n 1 echo -n " -p`". I then copied a 1.3GB file from the server to my client to generate traffic. The resulting file was around 93k lines (15MB).

Mbox spool; dovecot rewriting and rewriting and rewriting
Hi, jaldhar recommended dovecot to me - http://www.askbjoernhansen.com/archives/2003/04/07/000286.html ... and so far it seems much nicer than the other imapds. yay. I use the OS X Mail.app client. I tested it with a test account with no problems, but trying to use it with my usual mail folders (~1.3GB; 120MB in the inbox) it's not working at all. It seems like dovecot keeps copying the

Query on improving throughput
Dear All, We have a small setup of lustre with 7 OSTs on 8gb FC . We have kept one OST per FC port. We have lustre 2.3 with CentOS 6.3. There are 32 clients which access this over FDR IB. We can achieve more than 1.3GB/s throughput using IOR, without cache. Which is roughly 185MB/s per OST. We wanted to know if this is normal. Should we expect more from 8gb FC port. OSTs are on 8+2 RAID6 .

What would be needed ..
I am thinking about creating an "asterisk-specific" Linux (I am soo tired of installing fedora core (1.3GB)) What are the minimum software requirements to A) compile and B) run Asterisk ? I was thinking along the lines of having a chroot somewhere on one of my Linux machines where I could compile and build not only asterisk, but the kernel and other related stuff. This

Windows XP to run from Linux boot
Hello everyone of Wine. I have been an Ubuntu user for the past month or so now and I have very little experience with Wine. I originally started using the OS/app loader on a Sony Vaio NR110 laptop, but now I am the owner of an MSI Wind. I have my Wind dual booted (XP, Ubuntu) with the larger partition to ext3 for ubuntu's boot. Usuing about 1.3gb for swap too. I would like to start using

Memory in R on windows running 64bit XP
Hi I'm running 32-bit R on Windows XP 64bit and the machine has 16Gb of RAM. The help for memory.limit states: If 32-bit R is run on some 64-bit versions of Windows the maximum value of obtainable memory is just under 4GB. So, using the help which states the size parameter can go up to 4095: memory.limit(size=4095) When I run mclust I get: Error: cannot allocate vector of size 1.3 Gb So,

CR getting 7.2 packages......
Heads-up to everyone: CR is getting CentOS 7.1511 (aka '7.2') packages..... just updated using CR, and, yeah, GNOME 3.14 is a bit different from 3.8...... several things are in different places on the screen. I did have to re-setup my triple monitor settings to have the laptop's display in the center and the two other displays as one on the left and one on the right. The good

mailbox size limit
Hi guys, I was wondering... my Inbox is 1.3GB large, my mailbox size limit is 6GB (6442450941). Other users have 500+ MB in their Inbox. I have about 27GB of mail. I'm running dovecot 1.0.7 now under Fedora 7 with postfix. I have no trouble at all, everything is working perfect. I use ext3 as my file system, and I store mail in maildir format. Will I have any inode, file system, issues? Is

fast or space-efficient lookup?
Dear R experts---I am struggling with memory and speed issues. Advice would be appreciated. I have a long data set (of financial stock returns, with stock name and trading day). All three variables, stock return, id and day, are irregular. About 1.3GB in object.size (200MB on disk). now, I need to merge the main data set with some aggregate data (e.g., the S&P500 market rate of return,

That's not the one you need to strace: you need to find out which smbd process belongs to your session (with

Cygwin: Back up open files?
I have VSS snapshots created in a batch file nightly and then Rsync the contents to a remote server. The trick is to mount the VSS snapshot on and empty folder or drive letter. I use a drive letter as mounting on an empty folder means that the folder will be empty if the snapshot has failed (this causes the --delete switch to empty the remote copy). I'm struggling with Exchange 2003 syncs

linux server freezes on large file transfers
Still no progress. Just tried to transfer 1.3GB fle and my box locked up. I am running MD 10 (Community) as a file server on a Shuttle SB61G2. This setup worked very well under Mandrake 9.2 however, everytime I try to copy files larger than say <550 ~650MB using MD 10, my linux box freezes and must be rebooted. I can FTP the same file(s) perfectly fine to other PC 's on my home

How to Read a Large CSV into a Database with R
Hi, I'm working in R 2.11.1 x64 on Windows x86_64-pc-mingw32. I'm trying to insert a very large CSV file into a SQLite database. I'm pretty new to working with databases in R, so I apologize if I'm overlooking something obvious here. I'm trying to work with the American Community Survey data, which is two 1.3GB csv files. I have enough RAM to read one of them into memory,

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS when winbindd under large traffic.
Hi list, Thanks in advanced. I have written a winbindd client software to do NTLM authentication by using WINBINDD_PAM_AUTH_CRAP message. that is to say, my winbindd client is similar to ntlm_auth, but with high performance. when I test it under large traffic, most of the time they all work well. and the transaction per second can reach more than 900. but sometimes, winbindd will return
