subsetting tables
Hi guys, one of the questions where you need a real human instead of a search engine, so it would be great if you could help. I have a matrix of z-scores which I would like to filter, sometimes columnwise, sometimes rowwise. Data looks like this: Allstar hsa.let.7a hsa.let.7a.1 hsa.let.7a.2 2 0.87 0.79 -0.57 1.07 3 0.67 -1.14 -0.78 -0.95 4

Gelman-Rubin Convergence test
Dear friends, I run the Gelman-Rubin Convergence test for a MCMC object I have and I got the following result Multivariate psrf 1.07+0i, What does this mean? I guess (if I am not mistaken) that I should get a psrf close to 1.00 but what is 1.07+0i? Is that convergence or something else? Jorge [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Unwanted conference with snom320 and asterisk 1.07 bristuffed
I have 13 Snom 320 with asterisk 1.07 bristuffed. The problem is that sometimes on random basis, when one customer is placed on hold and another call arrives, the customers are put in conference with each other. This look very strange to me, but I've disabled the confernce button on the snom phones to prevent the human errors, but it still occurs. Investigating I've discovered that a

str() to extract components
Hi, I have been dabbling with str() to extract values from outputs such as lmer etc and have found it very helpful sometimes. but only seem to manage to extract the values when the output is one simple table, any more complicated and I'm stumped :-( take this example of the extracted coeficients from a lmer analysis... using str(coef(lmer(resp3~b$age+b$size+b$pcfat+(1|sex), data=b)))

1.07 to 1.0.13 mail_extra_groups
I have just upgraded from 1.0.7 to 1.0.13. I read the comments in the example .conf file and it seemed what I needed to enable dotlock access to mailboxes in /var/spool/mail (writable by 'mail' group) was "mail_privileged_group = mail" so I removed the "mail_extra_groups = mail" that I had in 1.0.7 and added "mail_privileged_group = mail", but I got errors

Rounding fractional numbers to nearest fraction
Hi all, I've got a matrix of fractional data that is all positive and greater than zero that I would like to "loosely" classify, for lack of a better word. It looks something like this : 1.07 1.11 1.27 1.59 0.97 0.76 2.23 0.98 0.71 0.88 1.19 1.02 What I'm looking for is a way to round these numbers to the nearest 0.25, i.e. the above matrix would be

Attempts to authenticate against Samba version 4.0.4-GIT-20cb7de also fail with 'auth: Info: winbind(?,192.168.2.100): user not authenticated: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL', despite the fact that the same user can sign on to the Samba domain and access files. Need help subsetting time series data
Hi all, I have multiple datasets of time series data taken from GPS collars. The collars are supposed to take a fix every hour on the half hour, i.e., 0:30, 1:30, 2:30...23:30, (because it sometimes takes longer for the collars to acquire a location the minute of these locations vary from 30-34) but because of a software glitch in the collars, at random times the collars start taking multiple

Conversations cuts: "didn't get a frame from Channel: SIP/..."
Hello list, I've been looking around to solve this problem both in the IRC, the wiki and Google without any luck. I have a box running * 1.07 (with zaptel 1.07 and libpri 1.07) and I'm having massive problems with random and increasing conversations cuts both in Zap and SIP channels. When one starts a call or attend any, sometimes it cuts-off at 20-25 seconds without any apparent

Asterisk 1.07 crash under Debian Sarge
I have just finished implementing an Asterisk system for my place of business (first one), and after three days of flawless usage, Asterisk seems to have crashed. I wasn't running with '-g', so I don't have a core dump. Here's the sequence of events leading up to the crash: 1. call comes in on our TDM2400P 2. all of our phones (about 26 Polycoms) ring. Asterisk 1.2.4 IAX2 New Jitterbuffer Tuning
I was using G729 with Asterisk 1.07. With the new ability to do packet loss correction with ILBC, I felt I'd give it a try. The new PLC does not work with G729. I don't use Speex because my softphone does not support it. This is a 1.5mb IP-VPN connection with prioritized QOS for port 4569 (IAX2). I've never really stressed the bandwidth. Typically, only 10-20 concurrent calls.

Reading in tab (and space) delimited data within a script XXXX
Hello everyone, I use Bob Muenchen's approach for reading in "in-stream" (to use SAS parlance) delimited data within a script. This works great: mystring <- "id,workshop,gender,q1,q2,q3,q4 1,1,f,1,1,5,1 2,2,f,2,1,4,1 3,1,f,2,2,4,3 4,2, ,3,1, ,3 5,1,m,4,5,2,4 6,2,m,5,4,5,5 7,1,m,5,3,4,4 8,2,m,4,5,5,5" mydata <- read.table( textConnection(mystring),
