1.05 to 1.08
Hi We are looking at moving a project over from 1.05 to 1.08 but have a problem with some of our helper specs They work fine in 1.05 but error in 1.08 and it is the calls to route helper methods that seems to be the problem. I did some playing around .. because the code being tested is reasonably large etc ... but this sample (using the peepcode app) seems to boil down the problem

z[i,j] = x[i,j] * y(i+j) ?
For the life of me I couldn't work out what to searc I have an m*n numeric matrix x and a numeric vector y (of length m+n-1) How do I do a calculation like this? z[i,j] = x[i,j] * y[i+j] ? Well, one can write a pair of loops, or write a single loop within which we calculate a vector at a time, but ... is there a "neat" way to do it? tiny example:

[mod_fcgid] 503 server temporarily unavailable
Hi There, Every now and then, and recently more and more we get a "503 server temporarily unavailable" error from our rails app. We are running Rails 1.0 with mod_fcgid in Apache 2.0.54 on Debian The thing is I don''t think we have such a heavy load on the server, and I haven''t seen this error occur at all outside the rails app. In fact I don''t think I ever

how to test this
Dear there, I am wondering how to test whether a simple linear regression model (e.g. y=1.05x) is significantly different from a 1 to 1 line (i.e. y=x). Thanks. Regards, Jin [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

estimating NA values against selected slots
Dear R Users, Could you please help me on the following issue? I have a real large yearly data set. For each year I have 365 flow values. Some of the flow values are not known and that’s why you will see NA written in those slots. I wanted to know, is there a way that I can estimate those values? I tried approx command but it seems least helpful for the kind of issue I am up against.

a question about taylor.diagram in plotrix package
Hi. I have a question about the taylor.diagram() in plotrix package. How can I control the label "correlation"? In the embedded figure you can see the label "correlation" is too close to the ticks. How can I move it and make it larger? Another problem is the labels "0.95" and "0.99" are too close to the plotting area. I do not find any method to control

Echo after upgrade * 1.05 -> 1.06
Hi list! I have a strange echo problem. Two days ago I setup * 1.0.6. at a friend of mine. Just an * server and for outbound calls wengo.fr was used to place calls via sip. He had a strange echo on the line I didn't experience on my setup. Today I upgraded my asterisk 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 and suddenly I have an echo too on sip calls thru wengo!! I already verified wengo was not the source of

matrix row product and cumulative product
I spent a lot of time searching and came up empty handed on the following query. Is there an equivalent to rowSums that does product or cumulative product and avoids use of apply or looping? I found a rowProd in a package but it was a convenience function for apply. As part of a likelihood calculation called from optim, I?m computing products and cumulative products of rows of matrices with

pretty formatting of lists
Hello, is there already a function in any R package which does source code formatting of deparsed lists? Let's create the following list: x <- list(a = round(rnorm(3), 2), b = round(rnorm(3), 2)) xx <-c(aa = round(rnorm(30)), f = function(a) a + b, list(x, x)) Now, I want deparse it in a way that yields something like: list( aa = c(0.25, 0.18, 0.84, -1.25, 0.09,
