read.spss {foreign} doesn't work over network?
I'm unable to open an SPSS file over my network. If I copy it to my
local C:/ drive I can read it. I saved the command (in a "crib sheet"
text file) in order to avoid all the typing, so I'm pretty sure I've
done it before. I verified that the file I'm trying to read is OK.
This is what happens:

I'm finding that nls iterates to the end of its iteration setting and does not
jump out to report convergence even when it has clearly converged. It is also
mis-reporting the number of iterations completed. These may not be
unconnected...

recursive function - finding connections
Dear all,
I'm having some problems getting my recursive function to work. At first I though that maybe my data was too big and I increase option(expressions=50000). Then I thought that I would try it on some smaller data. Still not working. :(
I would have thought there should be a function for this already, so any suggestions are welcomed for other methods. I did try igraph but couldn't

Why do <none>s appear in the list of predictor variables in logistic regression using 'step' or 'stepAIC' function?
Would anyone help me solve my problem with R, please? I am very new to R. yum install fails - itertoolsmodule.so
I've just tried a yum update on one of my C7 boxes and got the following output.
I'm guessing to fix this I need to re-install the RPM, but I can't remove it because of dependancies, so how can I fix the problem?
I've managed to download a later version of the RPM, but haven't managed to find the same version as the one installed.

I was suspecting the same, and from the output below I think you're right. However, I was hoping I could just repair this problem for now, and worry about replacing the HDD later. I need to resume some services that also seem to generate this same error.

mongrel timing out
I am not sure when it exactly occurred but I have 2 servers I am about to
migrate to apache+mongrel from lighty+fastcgi
oddly, both my servers seemed to have died at the same time everytime I
restart within a 24 hr period ( I don''t know when, my logs don''t show it ).
Can someone please point me in the direction of what I need to do to trace
the cause of this. Or what you would

Hi Gary,
That "Input/output error" suggests a disk problem to me. Does that file
/usr/lib64/python2.7/lib-dynload/itertoolsmodule.so actually exist and is
it readable?
Also look the the output of 'rpm -V python-libs' to see if rpm considers
the installed files to be corrupt.
If it's not that, then you could try 'yum reinstall python-libs'.
