ZFS Evil Tuning Guide
Tuning should not be done in general and Best practices should be followed. So get very much acquainted with this first : http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/ZFS_Best_Practices_Guide Then if you must, this could soothe or sting : http://www.solarisinternals.com/wiki/index.php/ZFS_Evil_Tuning_Guide So drive carefully. -r

Question about plotting discontinuous data
Hi, I have a simple question that I just cannot figure out. I have 2 corresponding columns of data, one column (X-axis) for time (formatted thus: 8:30:01am = 830.1, 12:30:05pm = 1230.5, and one column (Y-axis) for values. When I attempt to plot the data using something like plot(inputdata[,1],inputdata[,2],type="l"); I get breaks in the plot (since the time essentially jumps from 8:59:59am = 859.59 to 9:00:00am = 900.0). Essentially, I get the plot shape I wa...

Restarting
Greetings' i have installed a redhat 6.2 on my machine. I have also installed Samba 2.0.6 on it and seems working fine for almost a year. But one of my problem is "Disappearing Mounts". I always use this command ( mount -t smbfs //server/shared/ /mnt/temp -o username%password) for re-Mounting. But several days later... my machine keeps on restarting everytime we access the mounted

ARGH!!! Instal fails at drive format time
Got all the way through the selection of packages. All those time consuming tasks and the install got to formating the drive and crashed on a format error! Since I know exactly how I want to lay out the partitions, is there a way I can boot from CD, and get into Disk Druid to set the partitions and do the formating. Then when I come to the install just select to keep the drive how it is?

Float::INFINITY ranges in where() clause
This seems like such an obvious idea that I''m having trouble believing I''m the first to think of it. Why not take ranges containing Float::INFINITY and translate them to the appropriate greater than or less than comparisons? Example: class Person scope :voters, -> { where(born_on: (-Float::INFINITY..18.years.ago)) } end This would generate something along the lines of
