Line Graph - Greater than 2 variables on plot
Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to construct a multiple line graph on R,
where there are 2 (or more) sets of data points plotted against some x axis of
data, and you can draw a line on the graph connecting each set of data points.
For example:
A B C D
0.6566 2.1185 1.2320 5
0.647 2.0865 1.2325 10
0.6532

Barplot by two variables
Hi all
I have a bit of a problem. I want to make a barplot of some data. My
data is of a score that is separated by year and by a limit (above 3 and
below 3 to calculate the score).
Year Limit HSS
1999 ALT 0.675
1999 VFR 0.521
2000 ALT 0.264
2000 VFR 0.295
I would like to have a barplot with year on the x axis and HSS on the y
axis and the two limits as two different colors to show the

Integration of vector syntax unknown
Hello,
I'm very new to using R, but I was told it could do what I want. I'm not sure how best to enter the information but here goes...
I'm trying to transfer the following integral into R to solve for ln(gamma_1), on the left, for multiple instances of gamma_i and variable N_i.
gamma_i is, for example, (0, 0.03012048, 0.05000000, 0.19200000, 0.44000000, 0.62566845)

Bug Report. Replay-gain and ogg.
I just bought an I Audio mobile device (Btw, these thigns are the
coolest players on the face of the earth.. might want to check em out).
It plays ogg vorbis files rather nicely. My whole music library is
sitting in flac format. When I encoded my flac files (the majority a
year ago) I used replay gain to save the album and track information if
the flac file.
Unfortunately, the I audio doesnt like

How to make try to catch warnings in logistic glm
Dear list,
>From an earlier post I got the impression that one could promote
warnings from a glm to errors (presumably by putting
options(warn=1)?), then try() would flag them as errors. I?ve spent
half the day trying to do this, but no luck. Do you have an explicit
solution?
My problems is that I am trying to figure out during what conditions

pmvt problem in multcomp
Hi, all:
Two examples are shown below.
I want to use the multiple comparison of Dunnett.
It succeeded in upper case "example 1".
However, the lower case "example 2" went wrong.
In "example 2", the function pmvt return NaN, so I cannot show
this simtest result. Is there any solution?

Parameter scaling problems with optim and Nelder-Mead method (bug?)
Dear all,
I?m having some problems getting optim with method="Nelder-Mead" to work
properly. It seems like there is no way of controlling the step size,
and the step size seems to depend on the *difference* between the
initial values, which makes no sense. Example:
f=function(xy, mu1, mu2) {
print(xy)
dnorm(xy[1]-mu1)*dnorm(xy[2]-mu2)
}
f1=function(xy) -f(xy, 0,

mixed model resuts from SAS and R
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to figure out why in SAS random beta
coefficients are 0 vs. in R the beta-s are non zero.
The variables of the data are nidl, time, and sub (for subject). Time and
nidl are continuous variables. I am applying random coefficients model.
Any input is greatly appreciated, Thanks, Aldi

how to interpret the results of a simint call
Hi all,
I've done some anovas, found some significance and proceeded to do the
post hoc tests to determine the source of the significance. I used the
multcmp package as suggested by Andy Liaw (thank you).
I am, however, unsure how to interpret the results of the call to
simint. Could someone help me with this?
I've attached the code and the results it produced. There are 3 groups

How to Package Extra Results to summary.lm
Dear R users,
I came up with some simple functions to give me the standard betas and
tolerance values from a predefined lm() model. I have been trying to
insert the results from these functions into the coefficients matrix in
a modified summary.lm function that I'm calling summary2 (I'd never edit
the summary.lm function directly!!). I managed to get the results
inserted into the

R-beta: New user - looking for help with ANOVA
Hi
I've just installed R on our Sun kit in the lab and on my Linux box at home.
My statistical expertise is not advanced - I have completed Open
University probability and statistics courses, and been using
Gary Perlmans !STAT package for analyses of variance, descriptive
stats, linear regression, non-parametric stats etc for 10 years or so.
(so be gentle with me :-) )
However, R is

Unless there is good reason not to, always cc the list -- there are lots of
smarter folks than I on it who can help.
I may or may not have time to look at this. Hopefully someone else will.
