help with heatmap - how to remove annoying "X" before numeric values?
Hello All,
I have a simple question based on how things are labeled on my heat map;
particularly, there is this annoying "X" that appears before the numeric
value of all the labels of my columns.
Let's say I have the following silly data, stored in "temp.txt"

creating a factor
Hi list,
I'd like to make a factor with seven 1s and three 2s using the

I will then bind this factor to the matrix below using cbind.data.frame().

This is just a programming problem which i cannot seem

reduce to pain of writing the whole set of data points
(p# below) using "for" loop. However, I seem to have

I'm running into problems trying to use the nls function to fit the some
data. I'm invoking nls using
nls(s~k/(a+r)^b, start=list(k=1, a=13, b=0.59))
but I get errors indicating that the step has been reduced below the
minimum step size or an inifinity is generated in numericDeriv. I've
tried to use a variety of starting values for a, b, k but get similar
errors.

Music On Hold
Hello everyone,
I am having a bit of problem getting MusicOnhold to play.
I am running Asterisk 1.4 with MPG123 0.59 installed.
And here's what i see in the debugging window of asterisk:
-- Started music on hold, class 'default', on channel
'SIP/x123-082043d0'
-- Stopped music on hold on SIP/x123-082043d0
Any idea why it is not playing the file at all?
thanks

I have the following script for generating a dataset. It works like a champ except for a couple of things.
1. I need the variables "itbs" and "map" to be negatively correlated with the binomial variable "lunch" (around -0.21 and -0.24, respectively). The binomial variable "lunch" needs to remain unchanged.

plot: many bars with wide bars
Hello,
I have got another problem.
I wrote a function which is able to create plots with different numbers of
bars.
In order to give them a similar look I determined the width of the bars
using the parameters
width=0.59
AND
ylim=c(0,10))
(see function below)
Now, this only works if I have just got up to 6 double bars. In the
following example it doesn't work because the bars for the

I'm trying to make a scatterplot of removed versus duration for each type of bee. No matter what I try, I can't seem to get my code to work.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
