estimating NA values against selected slots
Dear R Users,
Could you please help me on the following issue?
I have a real large yearly data set. For each year I have
365 flow values. Some of the flow values are not known and that’s why you will
see NA written in those slots. I wanted to know, is there a way that I can
estimate those values? I tried approx command but it seems least helpful for
the kind of issue I am up against.

GLMNET AUC vs. MSE
Hello -
I am using glmnet to generate a model for multiple cohorts i. For each i, I
run 5 separate models, each with a different x variable. I want to compare
the fit statistic for each i and x combination.
When I use auc, the output is in some cases is < .5 (.49). In addition, if
I compare mean MSE (with upper and lower bounds) ... there is no difference
across my various x variables, but

There are some NA values in the discharge which I would like to predict by using “predict command”. I cant figure out the way to write the coding for that. Could you please help me on that???

Inversions in hierarchical clustering were they shouldn't be
Hi,
I''m using heatmap.2 to cluster my data, using the centroid method for clustering and the maximum method for calculating the distance matrix:
library("gplots")
library("RColorBrewer")
test <- matrix(c(0.96, 0.07, 0.97, 0.98, 0.50, 0.28, 0.29, 0.77,
0.08, 0.96, 0.51, 0.51, 0.14, 0.19, 0.41, 0.51),

How do I create a scatterplot with two explanatory variables?
Hi there,
I'm trying to make a scatterplot of removed versus duration for each type of bee. No matter what I try, I can't seem to get my code to work.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
My r-code:
dat$BEE <- with(dat, factor(BEE, c(1,2)))
plot(REMOVED~DURATION,pch=BEE, col=BEE) REMOVED DURATION BEE

2 0.10 5 QUEEN

Hello,
I would like to perform a monotone transformation of y (my response

My model is as follows

x and y lengths differ
I have a problem with R. I try to compute the confidence interval for my
df. When I want to create the plot I have this problem: Error in
xy.coords(x, y, xlabel, ylabel, log) : 'x' and 'y' lengths differ.
I try this code:
library(dplR)
df.rwi <- detrend(rwl = df, method = "Spline",nyrs=NULL)
write.table(df.rwi,file="rwi.txt",quote=FALSE,row.names=TRUE)

Hi all (two) klibc hackers! 8)
Here's the stuff I've been using to build an initramfs image and run it
on one of my machines. Unfortunately, the "init" script contains hard
coded information about where to find the root, etc, but it should give
people a working base to start from.

[LLVMdev] pb05 benchmarks for llvm/dragonegg 3.2
Duncan,
With the commit from http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20121203/158488.html,
the Polyhedron 2005 benchmarks complete again on x86_64-apple-darwin12. The result are similar to what
were seen with FSF gcc 4.6.2svn and llvm/dragonegg 3.0 (which was the last release that passed pb05)

confidence interval for logistic joinpoint regression from package ljr
I?m trying to run a logistic joinpoint regression utilising the ljr package. I?ve been using the forward selection technique to get the number of knots for the analysis, but I?m uncertain as to my results and the interpretation. The documentation is rather brief ( in the package and the stats in medicine article is quite technical) and without any good examples. At the moment I?m thinking

filling NA gaps according to previous data mean and following data mean
Hi everybody,
I have a little problem about filling some gaps of NAs in my data.
These gaps are between nearly constant data (temperature under snow). Here's
a fake example to illustrate how it looks like approximately:
DF <-
data.frame(data=c(-0.51,-0.51,-0.48,-0.6,-0.54,-0.38,-0.6,-0.42,NA,NA,NA,NA,NA,NA,NA,
-0.25,-0.41,-0.5,-0.5,-0.35,-0.7,-1,-0.87))
I would like to replace my NAs

Error: cannot allocate vector of size x Gb (64-bit ... yet again)
Hello,
I am facing the dreaded "Error: cannot allocate vector of size x Gb" and
don't understand
enough about R (or operating system) memory management to diagnose and
solve the problem
-- despite studying previous posts and relevant R help -- e.g.:
"Error messages beginning cannot allocate vector of size indicate a
failure to obtain memory,
