quadratic trends and changes in slopes
I'd like to use linear and quadratic trend analysis in order to find
out a change in slope. Basically, I need to solve a similar problem as
discussed in http://www.gseis.ucla.edu/courses/ed230bc1/cnotes4/trend1.html
My subjects have counted dots: one dot, two dots, etc. up to 9 dots.
The reaction time increases with increasing dots. The theory is that
1 up to 3 or 4 points can be counted

Nested model - "singularities not defined"
I am using a nested model in R and the lm output shows 47 not defined
because of singularities and I have no idea why. Any help on why this is
happening or how to fix this problem would be very much appreciated. Below
is the output I received from R.
Thanks and happy holidays!
Call:
lm(formula = Dist ~ Treatment/SiteL/Territory)
Residuals:
Min 1Q Median 3Q Max

convergence error (lme) which depends on the version of nlme (?)
Dear list members,
the following hlm was constructed:
hlm <- groupedData(laut ~ design | grpzugeh, data = imp.not.I)
the grouped data object is located at and can be downloaded:
www.anicca-vijja.de/lg/hlm_example.Rdata
The following works:
library(nlme)
summary( fitlme <- lme(hlm) )
with output:

AIC BIC logLik
