column and line graphs in R
Hi all, I would love to plot my data with R. I have abundance and frequency of fungal taxonomic data that should be plotted in the same graph. In Microsoft Excel is that possible but the graphic result is, as always, very poor. Is there a function that may let me plot these data in R? I have a matrix made of two columns, on is the relative abundance and the other is the relative frequency for

> s = Surv(c$tiempo, c$estado) > f = survfit(s ~ tratamiento, data = c) > d = survdiff(s ~ tratamiento, data = c) > d Call: survdiff(formula = s ~ tratamiento,

attempt to apply non-function
Hi All I am getting the above mentioned error when I run the code below. I don't know why because I have implemented the function and I'm calling the function with a parameter. I'm obviously missing the plot ... Can someone perhaps point out the error of my ways? Error: > out<-ode(y=init, times=times, func=G1999, parms=parms, method="lsoda") Error in m_Na(v) : attempt

anova statistics in lmer
Dear list members, I am new to R and to the R-help list. I am trying to perform a mixed-model analysis using the lmer() function. I have a problem with the output anova table when using the anova() function on the lmer output object: I only get the numerator d.f., the sum of squares and the mean squares, but not the denominator d.f., F statistics and P values. Below is a sample output, following

How to get prediction for a variable in WinBUGS?
Dear all,I am a new user of WinBUGS and need your help. After running the following code, I got parameters of beta0 through beta4 (stats, density), but I don't know how to get the prediction of the last value of h, the variable I set to NA and want to model it using the following code.Does anyone can given me a hint? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Best

how ot get covariance matrix from survreg
I have a question, I generated some data and tried survreg to analyze them, but here, I want to get the covariance matrix of the coefficients. I know how to get corr from survreg, say, summary(f,corr=T), but how to get covariance matrix of the coefficient ? can I put them in a matrix and output ? thanks below is what I did <mailto:r-help@stat.math.ethz.ch> n=100; beta=1.0

Significant performance difference between split of a data.frame and split of vectors
I have the following code, which tests the split on a data.frame and the split on each column (as vector) separately. The runtimes are of 10 time difference. When m and k increase, the difference become even bigger. I'm wondering why the performance on data.frame is so bad. Is it a bug in R? Can it be improved? > system.time(split(as.data.frame(x),f)) user system elapsed 1.700

Dear Sir, My name is Iut Tri Utami. i am beginning user. I have a problem about generate data in R. It consists of one disk generated by a Gaussian N(0, 0.167) and one ring generated by a Gaussian N(R, 0.1). The mean R was generated from its polar coordinates. The angle was drawn from a uniform distribution on the interval (0, 2ð), and the radius, from a Gaussian N(1.5, 0.1). The class sizes are

What is the CADF test criterion="BIC" report?
Hello: I am a rookie in using R. When I used the unit root test in "CADFtest", I got the different t-test statistics between using criterion="BIC" and no using criterion. But when I checked the result with eviews, I find out that no using criterion is correct. Why after using criterion="BIC", I got the different result? Paul > data(Canada) > ADFt

problem reading Matlab file into R
Hi, I'm trying to read a .mat file into R (2.11.1) with medium success so far. The file I have is a MATLAB 5.0 MAT-file exported from RiverSurveyor LIVE software (http://www.sontek.com/software.php). I have R.matlab and Rcompression installed and readMat() starts reading the file, as can be seen in verbose mode (hence medium success), but then gives the following error: Error in dim(matrix)

rpart
Hi, When I look at the summary of an rpart object run on my data, I get 7 nodes but when I plot the rpart object, I get only 3 nodes. Should the number of nodes not match in the results of the 2 functions (summary and plot) or it is not always the same? Look forward to your reply, Carol -------------------------------------------- ?summary(rpart.res) Call: rpart(formula = mydata$class ~ ., data
