reading in data with variable length
I have very large csv files (up to 1GB each of ASCII text). I'd like to be able to read them directly in to R. The problem I am having is with the variable length of the data in each record.
Here's a (simplified) example:
$ cat foo.csv
Name,Start Month,Data
Foo,10,-0.5615,2.3065,0.1589,-0.3649,1.5955

Bug in arima?
I'm using the fixed argument in arima. Shouldn't ar4, ar5, and ar6
display as zero in the output?
Call:
arima(x = window(log(hhprice), start = c(1990, 1), end = c(2003, 3)),
order = c(7,
1, 0), xreg = window(ts.union(exa1 = lag(exa, -1), exa12 = lag(exa,
-12), exb1 = lag(exb, -1), exc1 = lag(exc, -1), exc12 = lag(exc,
-12)), start = c(1990, 1), end = c(2003, 3)),

Initial values of the parameters of a garch-Model
Dear all,
I'm using R 2.8.1 under Windows Vista on a dual core 2,4 GhZ with 4 GB
of RAM.
I'm trying to reproduce a result out of "Analysis of Financial Time
Series" by Ruey Tsay.
In R I'm using the fGarch library.
After fitting a ar(3)-garch(1,1)-model
> model<-garchFit(~arma(3,0)+garch(1,1), analyse)
I'm saving the results via
> result<-model

aov and non-categorical variables
It is unclear to me how aov() handles non-categorical
variables.
I mean it works and produces results that I would
expect, but I was under impression that ANOVA is only
defined for categorical variables.
In addition, help(aov) says that it "call to 'lm' for
each stratum", which I presume means that it calls
to lm() for every group of the categorical variable,
however I

[LLVMdev] 2.2 Prerelease available for testing
LLVMers,
The 2.2 prerelease is now available for testing:
http://llvm.org/prereleases/2.2/
If anyone can help test this release, I ask that you do the following:
1) Build llvm and llvm-gcc (or use a binary). You may build release
(default) or debug. You may pick llvm-gcc-4.0, llvm-gcc-4.2, or both.
2) Run 'make check'.
3) In llvm-test, run 'make TEST=nightly report'.

Paravirtualised drivers for fully virtualised domains
(The list appears to have eaten my previous attempt to send this.
Apologies if you receive multiple copies.)
The attached patches allow you to use paravirtualised network and
block interfaces from fully virtualised domains, based on Intel''s
patches from a few months ago. These are significantly faster than
the equivalent ioemu devices, sometimes by more than an order of
magnitude.
