who can explain the difference between the R and SAS on the results of GLM
Dear friends, I used R and SAS to analyze my data through generalized linear model, and there is some difference between them. Results from R: glm(formula = snail ~ grass + gheight + humidity + altitude + soiltemr + airtemr, family = Gamma) Deviance Residuals: Min 1Q Median 3Q Max -1.23873 -0.41123 -0.08703 0.24339 1.21435 Coefficients:

Hmisc Latex Question: column headings and Major Column Headings not properly alligned
Dear R users: When I create a table without Major Column headings, my *regular* column headings appear correct in the typeset latex file. The major row heading and row groups are as they should. w <- latex(mytab,title="",file="tab/my.tex",ctable=TRUE,caption="Descriptive statistics by

lme nesting/interaction advice
Hi everyone, I am confused on how to specify some nesting and interaction terma with lme(). I have a dataset where some flies where selected for accessory gland size, made to mate in presence/absence of another male and the level of some protein measured. Now the complex stuff. The selection has been replicated twice, so that the selection term has got two levels (large and small) with

Troubleshooting underidentification issues in structural equation modelling (SEM)
Hi all, hope someone can help me out with this. Background Introduction I have a data set consisting of data collected from a questionnaire that I wish to validate. I have chosen to use confirmatory factor analysis to analyse this data set. Instrument The instrument consists of 11 subscales. There is a total of 68 items in the 11 subscales. Each item is scored on an integer scale between 1 to 4.

[LLVMdev] [RFC] AArch64: Should we disable GlobalMerge?
Hi all, I've started looking at the GlobalMerge pass, enabled by default on ARM and AArch64. I think we should reconsider that, at least for AArch64. As is, the pass just merges all globals together, in groups of 4KB (AArch64, 128B on ARM). At the time it was enabled, the general thinking was "it's almost free, it doesn't affect performance much, we might as well use it".

[LLVMdev] 2.2 Prerelease available for testing
LLVMers, The 2.2 prerelease is now available for testing: http://llvm.org/prereleases/2.2/ If anyone can help test this release, I ask that you do the following: 1) Build llvm and llvm-gcc (or use a binary). You may build release (default) or debug. You may pick llvm-gcc-4.0, llvm-gcc-4.2, or both. 2) Run 'make check'. 3) In llvm-test, run 'make TEST=nightly report'. 4) When
