Optimization in R similar to MS Excel Solver
Dear Colleagues, I am attempting to develop an optimization routine for a river suspended sediment mixing model. I have Calcium and Magnesium concentrations (%) for sediments from 4 potential source areas (Topsoil, Channel Banks, Roads, Drains) and I want to work out, based on the suspended sediment calcium and magnesium concentrations, what are the optimal contributions from each source area to

Interpreting the results of the zero inflated negative binomial regression
Hi, I am new to R and has been depending mostly on the online tutotials to learn R. I have to deal with zero inflated negative binomial distribution. I am however unable to understand the following example from this link http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/r/dae/zinbreg.htm The result gives two blocks. *library(pscl) zinb<-zeroinfl(count ~ child + camper | persons, dist = "negbin", EM =

Initial values of the parameters of a garch-Model
Dear all, I'm using R 2.8.1 under Windows Vista on a dual core 2,4 GhZ with 4 GB of RAM. I'm trying to reproduce a result out of "Analysis of Financial Time Series" by Ruey Tsay. In R I'm using the fGarch library. After fitting a ar(3)-garch(1,1)-model > model<-garchFit(~arma(3,0)+garch(1,1), analyse) I'm saving the results via > result<-model

Help with predict.Arima with external regressor values [Repalced]

Set axis limits in mixtools plot
Hello, Can the x and y axis limits be specified in a density plot with the mixtools package for a finite mixture model? Uncommenting the xlim2/ ylim2 lines in the plot command below generates 'not a graphical parameter' warnings (and does not change the axis settings), and uncommenting the xlim/ylim lines generates a 'formal argument "ylim" matched by multiple actual

simple line graphics, labels and legend
Dear users, I think my questions are pretty simple, but I got lost in the hundreds of par() and plot() arguments and plot functions, so I don't know in which direction I should go. Here is my sample dataset: test <- structure(list(DIET = structure(c(1L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 3L, 3L, 3L, 3L, 3L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 2L, 4L, 4L, 4L, 4L, 4L), .Label = c("G", "GG", "L",

[LLVMdev] [Polly] Compile-time and Execution-time analysis for the SCEV canonicalization
Hello all, I have evaluated the compile-time and execution-time performance of Polly canonicalization passes. Details can be referred to http://188.40.87.11:8000/db_default/v4/nts/recent_activity. There are four runs: pollyBasic (run 45): clang -O3 -Xclang -load -Xclang LLVMPolly.so pollyNoGenSCEV (run 44): clang -O3 -Xclang -load -Xclang LLVMPolly.so -mllvm -polly -mllvm -polly-codegen-scev

sem: negative parameter variances
Dear Spencer and Prof. Fox, Thank you for your replies. I'll very appreciate, if you have any ideas concerning the problem described below. First, I'd like to describe the model in brief. In general I consider a model with three equations. First one is for annual GRP growth - in general it looks like: 1) GRP growth per capita = G(investment, migration, initial GRP per

[LLVMdev] [Polly] Compile-time and Execution-time analysis for the SCEV canonicalization
Hello all, I have done some basic experiments about Polly canonicalization passes and I found the SCEV canonicalization has significant impact on both compile-time and execution-time performance. Detailed results for SCEV and default canonicalization can be viewed on: http://188.40.87.11:8000/db_default/v4/nts/32 (or 33, 34) *pNoGen with SCEV canonicalization (run 32): -O3 -Xclang -load

[LLVMdev] [Polly] Compile-time and Execution-time analysis for the SCEV canonicalization
Now, we come to more evaluations on http://188.40.87.11:8000/db_default/v4/nts/recent_activity I mainly care about the compile-time and execution time impact for the following cases: pBasic (run 45): clang -O3 -load LLVMPolly.so pNoGenSCEV (run 44): clang -O3 -load LLVMPolly.so -polly-codegen-scev -polly -polly-optimizer=none -polly-code-generator=none pNoGenSCEV_nocan (run 47): same option
