[Samba] [Announce] Samba 4.23.0rc3 Available for Download
Hello mjt, Im sad to hear this. In my research I havent found any alternative for ubuntu except the linux-schools project which does not seem to be a good alternative. Thank you for your packages and your time dedicated to packaging! Quick sidenote: 4.22.4 seems to be missing from bookworm-bpo & trixie? Its in forky though... Thanks and have a nice day, Matthias. Its backports is basically closed, but even open, bpo12 uploads should have version which is less than the one in trixie. And trixie - stable - works in form of point releases. A next point release of trixie (13.1) is planned for Sep-06, samba 4.22.4 supposed to be there (I prepared and uploaded it, and it's been accepted). Once it's released in trixie, a backport to bookworm is possible - but only if there's "enough reasons" for it. For oldstable- backports, there should be actual reasons. Debian stable and oldstable has their own rules, which are rather simple and logical. 4.22.4 is available in my repository for all supported debian and ubuntu versions. Ubuntu is free to make the situation better, - there's not much needed, at least the changed made in ubuntu would help already, so I know how their packages interact with mine. So far they don't want to have any co-operation whatsoever. It's their choice, not mine. Thanks, /mjt
