All you need to do is backup the data and the smb.conf on a Unix domain member, install the new 64bit OS, install the Samba packages, replace the smb.conf with your backed up copy, restore the data and away you go. Unfortunately python dependencies stopped that. Even after replacing python with 64 bit version, other architecture python any packages still wanted 32 bit version.
