samba - Jul 2024 - samba 4.12.2: WERR_DNS_ERROR_DS_UNAVAILABLE, unable to manage samba DNS

4 years after you posted, I'm exactly in the same case... old AD with w2k
style dns already migrated to Samba 4.19.4 (mocked from sources with rocky
linux 9).

'samba dns' command replies WERR_DNS_ERROR_DS_UNAVAILABLE but dns seems
to
work.

ldbsearch shows we do not have the
CN=MicrosoftDNS,DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=example,DC=com

and I have pretty same logs as you had.

Can you please share how did you solve the situation ?
