OK, I see what is happening, at one time, Samba didn't know about
'Authenticated Users', 'EVERYONE' and a few others, this has no
been
fixed. I need to update that wiki page.

Just a suggestion, but 4.6.4 is dead, it had a nice funeral :-) So it
probably would be a good idea to update to a later, supported version
of Samba.

I know that, Rowland, and this is exactly the reason why I implement the 
new file server right now. It will replace the ancient one as soon as it 
is up and running rock-stable :)

(BTW: My business is a funeral home, it made me smile that you're 
talking about the funeral of 4.6.4 *g*)

Ok, from between your lines I clearly read "You don't have to set Share
Permissions in any way to accomplish your task, just leave it at 
 >>Everyone -> Full Control<<", is that true?

Then I still have to decide if it's worth to open a bug report or not. 
When "Share Permissions" has no use case anyway then it seems to be a 
waste of time to cope with it.

I see you (or maybe someone else) already updated the wiki, thank you 
very much for your help, it is very appreciated!

I've decided to not report a bug because there is no real problem to be 
fixed anyway.
