samba - Nov 2022 - "Invalid Group" but It Isn't

Greetings --



What causes this? I can see that it is a valid group...



[root at store08b ts_folders]# wbinfo -g|grep site002 MYCHARTS\site002_group

MYCHARTS\site002_group



But when I try to assign ownership, it says it is invalid...



[root at store08b ts_folders]# chown -R root:"MYCHARTS\site002_group"
002

chown: invalid group: 'root:MYCHARTS\\site002_group'



I have samba 4.125.11-15 on Rocky Linux release 8.6.

Um. The double \\ ? (Hint: escaping anything within single quotes doesn't
work)
Or missing/misconfigured nss_winbind?

Samba upstream has only 4.17. Your is 4.125 already - that's 100+ revisions!
I guess we can't say anything about that distant future yet :)
