samba - Oct 2022 - registry mode (cockpit ui)

I split this issue out from the synology conversion

I was able to get the deb package of cockpit samba module) installed 
manually (haven't troubleshoot why build from source fails).? It wants 
registry mode. Is there a way to "migrate" a smb.conf to registry
mode.?
If not, it's ok, I'll use the include = registry directive.

Please be aware that the Samba AD DC doesn't understand the registry
mode for the smb.conf.  

That only operates for the file server.
