[Samba] Use the shared intranet printer on Windows from internet through a socks5 proxy.
For the specific task of talking to a Samba / CIFS shared printer, a VPN would be a better tool. OpenWRT or Wireguard are two free options that I'd highly recommend. If both ends have static IPs (on the Internet) it'd probably be easier to dial your office, otherwise whichever end is static, or most stable for a dynamic DNS address should be the server. You might be able to share the printer via other methods (E.G. IPP on port 631) that are easier to map over a SOCKS5 proxy.> -----Original Message----- > From: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] On Behalf Of Hongyi > Zhao via samba > Sent: Friday, November 26, 2021 10:44 PM > To: samba at lists.samba.org > Subject: [Samba] Use the shared intranet printer on Windows from internet > through a socks5 proxy. > > My scenario is as follows: I have a shared intranet printer on Windows > 10 on my office network.
